Aye, traffic is moving slowly now - but my buddy Card Sound is still closed.

As much as I love to see you, avoid visiting with me for the time being.

18-Mile Stretch opening slowly amid brush fire ALL traffic is beginning to open SLOWLY on the 18-Mile Stretch, but Card Sound Road remains closed in both directions. NOTE: Expect traffic disruptions in and out of the Florida Keys well into the evening as the weather continues to impact fire conditions. Motorists are advised to avoid traveling on the 18-Mile Stretch, if possible, at this time. Those that must make the trip on the 18-Mile Stretch are urged to take due care/proceed with caution.

No accidents to report but there always seem to be a slow down to check out the views at Chonga Beach. Be patient, enjoy the views, and mosey along, folks!

Remember to bring all your necessary gear, plenty of hydrating fluids and make sure you have the necessary licenses.

Above all else, remember to bring your common sense, patience, safety, courtesy, and diligence with you on the water.
