Homer Ocean Charters – Homer Spit
Homer Ocean is looking for a Fishing Booking Extraordinaire to join our team on the Homer Spit!
If you’re comfortable navigating reservation software, love talking about fishing, and can handle 99% awesome clients (and that one guy — you know who you are 😉), we’d love to see your resume.
This is a full-time (40 hours/week) May-September position in a fast-paced charter office with a constant flow of clients and tourists — and an ocean view right outside the window.
Shift Availability:
Morning opener (greeting and checking in clients)
Evening closer
Responsibilities:
Manage bookings using our reservation system
Greet and check in charter guests
Answer phones and assist walk-in customers
Provide friendly, knowledgeable customer service
Maintain a clean and organized workspace
Qualifications:
Basic computer skills
Basic sales skills
Outgoing and professional personality
Punctual and reliable
Clean appearance
Able to keep work areas clean and organized
Drug- and alcohol-free
Able to pass a background check

This year’s halibut regulations are in!

AREA 3A – Southcentral Alaska

Daily Bag Limit: Two halibut per person, per day

Size Restriction: One fish may be any size; the second must be 27 inches or less

Day Closures:
• No halibut retention on Wednesdays throughout the entire season
• No halibut retention on Tuesdays between June 2 and August 25

Captain Zev isn’t just returning this season — he’s coming back to run our new custom-built vessel, Galene (Goddess of Calm Seas… though Zev has never been shy about sending it).

Purpose-built to cut through rough water, Galene’s fiberglass hull is matched with new Honda 350s, driving us to the grounds faster, and more comfortably than ever.

Bay Explorer is undergoing winter upgrades and will be ready for the season ahead. Dates are beginning to fill, especially for larger groups.

Exciting news! Captain Reishan will be taking over the Diamond Cape in 2026. The boat’s also getting a big upgrade with twin new Honda 350s, so she’ll be faster and better than ever!

Reishan did an amazing job for us on the Seahawk this past summer, and he’s really looking forward to running a quicker six-passenger vessel that gives him even more range for his trips.

And don’t worry — Captain Zev isn’t going anywhere! He’s moving over to our brand-new custom vessel, Galene(named after the Greek goddess of calm seas).

Deck-boss extraordinaire Colton is more then eligible with his sea time to become Captain. Final stages of schooling and testing are happening now. I, for one think he’s exceptional and ready! There is nothing like having Homer’s fleet in your corner.

Captain Zev on the Diamond Cape has had an incredible first year with us! He has checked all the boxes proving to be an exceptional fisherman!
