What is Dynamic Manual Interface (DMI)?:
**DMI is an advanced comprehensive form of manual therapy that embodies some of the most current research in the dynamics of the human body. DMI utilizes the body’s self corrective mechanisms to improve tissue mobility, bio-mechanics and system balance. Practitioners of DMI have learned to feel, interpret and facilitate specific subtle rhythms within the b
Greetings! While we haven't been actively using this site, I had hoped Frank would share updates here. A quick update: Frank is treating clients at our new Holyoke, MA location and handling his own scheduling. If you don't have his 505 area code phone number, message us here. Frank is conducting Advanced Trainings for experienced teachers and students who have completed the Essential Elements Series, Fluid Pressure Dynamics, and Channels and Bridges courses. I will teach basic classes based on interest, and other teachers may also offer classes. We have an Advanced Class scheduled for October 17-20 in Western Massachusetts and are looking to add another in July. These small classes are limited to 8-10 students, so please express your interest if you'd like to join us.
It’s been a while. Frank and I have not disappeared, even though it might seem so. We will be teaching again but it’s been quite a year, of course following the disruption of COVID-19.
In May, Frank had prostate surgery. His intention was to resume treatment and teaching. He is doing well, though complete recovery is a long process. However , we are also planning a move closer to family and have been involved with the process of getting the house ready for sale.
This was not an easy decision, but it became apparent when my stepmother was in her final time and required intensive family support that moving near my family was the most sensible option. Since Frank no longer has living family, we are moving closer to mine. I am very happy that both of my daughters wanted us to be near them. Our new home is in Holyoke, MA. It is about 35 minutes from Hartford/Springfield Airport (Bradley).
It does seem sudden, but it is really hard to manage finding and selling a house and moving with a dog across the country. We needed to avoid crossing the country in winter weather and a house became available with this timeline.
I will write to discuss precise timeline. My hope was to have an advanced training with Frank and to do a few basic classes in Washington, but there is still so much to do.
Hello All,
I have rescheduled the Spokane Core class for October 15-16. This is an accelerated version due to feedback that many prefer a 2 day class. I am extending the hours and focusing on what I believe to be the most useful skills for any manual therapy practice and the background knowledge needed to tie it all together. Worth repeating if you haven’t done this for a while. I plan to do this class at my home clinic- let me know soon- if there are two many for this space I will look for another location or start wait list for another class. Laurie
Hello All,
I owe you an update.
It has been a continuation of a series of situations which have created a gap in teaching, starting with COVID-19, of course.
My goal in starting this page was to enhance communication with Frank and to allow him to share insights between teaching, and also to post updates.
I have been involved in the care of my stepmother, who I have very close with and is on Hospice. That has had me traveling back and forth to Philadelphia, and has prevented me from planning any teaching. Frank has been holding down the fort in Spokane.
For those who had been interested in the Core Class, I will reschedule the Spokane class when I can, and we are still working on a date for an Albuquerque class in the Fall.
Core Concepts for Dynamic Manual Interface. Taugh June 11-12 in Spokane Valley, WA. This will be an extended hours class to fit into a weekend. The focus will be on hand skills and assessment as well as increasing understanding of this gentle and powerful approach to treatment. This class is a required prerequisite for all other classes but also would be great as a refresher for repeaters. Skills can be applied to enhance virtually any type of manual therapy. Limited space available.
Hello All,
I have started back with some classes. I know people are waiting for more Advanced classes with Frank, but the first task at hand is to get started with some Core Classes so that more people can understand and start to practice this work. I am doing two extended hour 2 day Core classes. I have changed them a bit to really hone in on hand skills for assessment and treatment so all students can be both successful and challenged. Might be worth repeating!
May 7-8 Albuquerque
June 11-12 Spokane
Hello All! My idea in getting Lowen Systems onto Facebook was to make it easier for Frank to interact, since he does participate in Facebook. I am still working on this! As far as classes, I am doing a Core class in Albuquerque the first weekend in May and plan to start classes up again in Spokane.
-Laurie
Hello All,
We are trying something new! I am hoping that this is a good way to allow Frank to interact more readily!
Happy New Year!
We are looking into starting up classes. Tentatively, I will be doing a Core Class in the Albuquerque area in March. No discussion yet about trainings, but Frank is developing as always. Laurie
