THIS WEEK'S RUNNING FORECAST 😒
Scattered disappointment, gusts of annoyance, and a significant chance of dread.

𝗜𝘁'𝘀 𝟴𝗞 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸.

We expect everyone to go through the classic stages of running grief:

🙄 𝗗𝗘𝗡𝗜𝗔𝗟: "Maybe the website's wrong. It often is."

😡 𝗔𝗡𝗚𝗘𝗥: "Why do we do an 8K? It's dumb. It should be 5Ks only."

🍺 𝗕𝗔𝗥𝗚𝗔𝗜𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚: "If I run this, I'll get to replace more carbs."

😌 𝗔𝗖𝗖𝗘𝗣𝗧𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗘: "Oh screw it. I'll just go slower."

Thursday, 6/18 at 6:30pm at the Holyoke Elks (250 Whitney Ave.).

This is Week 3 of EORC's Holyoke Elks 12-Week Point Series (running 6/4-8/20). Competitors must complete a minimum of 10 races to be eligible for a trophy.

RACE UPDATE: 6/11/26

To mitigate the elevated risks associated with today's high temperatures and humidity, tonight's race will start at the BOTTOM instead of the TOP as originally scheduled. This will allow finishers to be closer to more water/aid/air conditioning. We will have a jug of water and a jug of gatorade at the finish.

The race start will be pushed to 6:35 to give people time to get down to the start line.

The direction is still left.

The WGBT is forecasted to be 79F at race start (higher in the direct sun). That is at the high end of RED FLAG conditions, so please be aware of that and adjust your pace accordingly.

REMINDER: The Stanley Park races start tomorrow.

This weekly 𝟯-𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀-𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗲 is located entirely within scenic 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗹𝗲𝘆 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗸 in Westfield, MA.

The course consists of field, trails, and approximately 10% paved road.

The race is 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 and attracts 𝗿𝘂𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀.

Age records are kept and prizes are awarded weekly to winners in selected male and female categories. The remaining prizes are distributed in a lottery drawing.

Weekly runs are held 𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 at 𝟲:𝟯𝟬𝗽𝗺 (registration starts at 5:30pm) from April 27 through Aug. 31, with a friendly 8-week “Point Series” competition (May 4 – June 29). There is no race on Memorial Day, May 25.

Commencing on Monday, May 4, the 8-Week “Points” Race Series will held through June 29. Awards will be presented on Monday, July 6.

Trophies will be awarded to the Top 3 Male and Top 3 Female Finishers. In addition, Trophies will be awarded to the Top 3 Male and Top 3 Female Age Division Finishers.

Competitors must complete a minimum of 7 races to be eligible for a Trophy.

Age Divisions:
• 1–16
• 17–29
• 30–39
• 40–49
• 50–59
• 60–69
• 70+

Points in the series are scored as follows:

The First Place Finisher in each weekly race receives 1000 Points. The remaining finishers receive points based on this formula: Each competitor’s time is divided in to the First Place Finishers time and then that time is multiplied by 1000. All weekly points are cumulative for eight weeks and the competitors with the highest amount of points after eight weeks, will determine our Awards Winners.
