Home and Community Connection
Home & Community Connections provides innovative and individualized support that eliminates barriers
We had a wonderful time connecting with our community at MassHire Holyoke Career Center's “Hot Dogs for Hot Jobs” job fair. Neighbors gathered to explore new opportunities, share laughter over music, and enjoy hot dogs and ice cream together.
Our team was grateful to be present, offering pathways for folks interested in joining our mission and growing with us. We were also glad to be alongside community partners from bankESB, Valley Springs, and Roca, each bringing their own energy and opportunities to the space.
Moments like these remind us that growth can begin anywhere, especially when we come together with care and purpose. The future is full of possibility!

We celebrate the nurses of Home and Community Connection's program who support individuals with disabilities with compassion, patience, and deep respect. You meet people where they are by creating safety, trust, and space for choice, dignity, and independence.
Your care heals beyond the clinical, reminding every person they are seen, valued, and supported in their community.
Thank you for showing up with heart, resilience, and humanity. Your work truly matters. ✨🩷

The policies around us influence access, stability, and daily wellbeing. The Massachusetts West Region Self Advocacy Policy Education Series offers a welcoming space to explore these topics, ask meaningful questions, and strengthen understanding together.
The first session will be held on March 31st, at 5:30 pm on Zoom, and will focus on housing policies. Please join if it feels right for you and spread the word. 💛
We invite you to join us for the Massachusetts West Region Self Advocacy Policy Education Series. We will host monthly events, focusing on understanding, individual policies, and the way that they impact the everyday lives of people with disabilities. Some of the policies covered will include understanding, Social Security benefits, food, assistance programs (like SNAP or WIC) and immigration policies. Participants in the events will also have opportunities to provide feedback on what topics they are most interested in discussing so that we can make the events as specific and relevant as possible. We are living through a turbulent time in the policy landscape, and we hope that providing opportunities to understand more about this process, and its outcomes will empower self advocates to feel more confident and better informed in their voting decisions. First session is March 31st at 5:30pm on zoom. We will be discussing housing policy. If you have questions please contact Amber Pettell, Peer Coordinator at (413) 535-6999 or [email protected]

❤️📚Our community came together for a beautiful Black History Month lunch and learn that uplifted the powerful legacy of Mildred and Richard Loving. The couple challenged Virginia’s law that made their marriage illegal, and their case reached the Supreme Court, which ruled in 1967 that people have the freedom to marry the person they love. Their courage opened the door for countless families and affirmed that love and commitment deserve respect and protection.
Through guided reflections, and engaging icebreakers, we created a gentle and welcoming space for honest conversation, shared experiences, and deep listening. Participants offered stories from their own lives, shared delicious food inspired by Black culture, and built connections across tables reminding us how collective understanding helps us grow stronger together.
Let this moment inspire us to keep choosing curiosity, compassion, and community care. 🌟
