Celebrate Juneteenth at Wistariahurst ๐คโค๏ธ๐
On Friday, June 19th, Wistariahurst (Wistariahurst Museum) and Genuine Culture (Damany_G) welcome you to the Wistariahurst gardens for our annual Celebrate Juneteenth event โ a day of community, joy, and honoring freedom on the countryโs second independence day.
For the 4th year running, Wistariahurst (Wistariahurst Museum) and Genuine Culture (Damany_G) are teaming up to bring this celebration back for Holyoke and beyond. ๐ณ
Hereโs whatโs waiting for you on the grounds:
๐จ Hands-on art projects + games in the gardens
๐ถ Live performances and music
๐ฝ๏ธ Local food vendors
๐๏ธ Black-owned businesses, makers & artists selling locally made goods
๐ Community organizations sharing their work
Thereโs something for every age. Juneteenth reminds us of the resilience of Black lives โ the challenges and victories of formerly enslaved people striving for unity, education, and political engagement during Reconstruction.

โ ๏ธโ๏ธ Due to the Heat Advisory in effect for tomorrow, the decision was made to postpone the opening night of the Night Market to NEXT FRIDAY JUNE 19.
While weโre disappointed to wait one more week, the safety and comfort of our vendors, staff, performers, and all of our guests comes first. โผ๏ธ
โจ Good news:
โข The Holyoke Night Market will still run EVERY Friday all summer long. (Except July 3 and 21)
โข New market hours will be 6PMโ11PM.
โข Weโll kick off the season next Friday at the Armour Yard and canโt wait to celebrate with you and see all of your faces! โบ๏ธ๐

Have you driven down Race Street lately? ๐ Thereโs a mural turning heads at the De La Luz Soundstage โ painted by the crew at
But the art is just the start. De La Luz is downtown Holyokeโs home for live music, theater, dance, cultural celebrations, and community gatherings. ๐ถ Two stages, a cafรฉ and dining room, a courtyard, studios โ plus the Technical Arts Institute, where young people from across the Valley train in live sound, lighting, stage management, and event production alongside working pros. ๐ก
Itโs the former Gateway City Arts campus, reborn under LightWorks Collective and back in full swing since 2024.
Next time youโre downtown, stop and see the mural in person โ then check their calendar and find a show. ๐๏ธ
