Brand new leaf blower? Not quite.

If you’re buying used 2-stroke equipment always check the fuel. It should look like blue or red Kool-Aid. If it’s clear or grey then the engine is probably damaged. Like this leaf blower shown below.

Router not spinning? Check the brushes!

This router looked brand new but wouldn’t spin. One of the brushes was jammed with corrosion. After cleaning out with WD-40 it works great!

Laptop making a clicking noise? It’s probably the fan.

This MSI was making a loud clicking noise coming from one of the cooling fans. A simple removal and clean out with some compressed air and it’s fixed!

Throttle trigger not working? Check the cable.

Looks like the cable is slipping. Open up the handle and sure enough, the cable came out of its slot. Line it up, close it up and ready to go!

Generator leaking fuel? Check the fuel valve.

This portable Yamaha generator had fuel leaking from the fuel valve. On this model there’s a small plastic bowl on the valve used to catch debris. The bowl had no gasket on it so for a quick fix I put a little RTV silicon around the rim. Fixed and sold! 😃

Sometimes you just need a little leverage.

This miter saw swivel base was seized and would not turn. So I used a furniture clamp to get is started. Along with some WD-40 on the center bolt and it’s working great now. 😃

Buyer beware! Looks can be deceiving!

This leaf blower looks brand new, right? Wrong! This was purchased without testing because they assumed it was new. But it wouldn’t start. Quick tip: if you want to check the piston for damage on a 2-stroke engine simply remove the exhaust and look in. This was most likely run with straight gas. 😩

Not sure how this happened but let’s fix it!

Somehow the back cover on this Xbox Series X got dislocated from the tabs on the side cover. So to fix it we’ll have to remove the two stickers hiding these green screws. Then pry up the back cover with a small screwdriver and realign the tabs with the slots on the sides. And that’s it! 😃👍

Happy Fourth everybody! Let’s replace the self propelled cable on this mower! 😃

First disconnect the top of the cable from the plastic bracket. Then remove the plastic cover over the drive system. (Careful, there are several hidden bolts underneath the mower. Always disconnect the spark plug wire before working under the mower.) Then disconnect the bottom end of the cable.

Now do the steps backwards with the new cable and you’re done! 👍
