The CMS GUIDE Model: Guiding an Improved Dementia Experience: is a voluntary, time-limited CMS Innovation Center model supporting people living with dementia and unpaid caregivers.

GUIDE is not insurance, Medicare Advantage, Medigap, or a standalone policy. Eligibility generally requires Original Medicare Parts A and B plus CMS criteria, including dementia confirmation, Medicare as primary payer, voluntary alignment with a participating GUIDE organization, and residence/program requirements. People enrolled in Medicare Advantage, PACE, hospice, or certain institutional settings may not qualify.

Part D and Medigap are separate coverage decisions: not GUIDE requirements. GUIDE does not replace or change them. For official GUIDE information, visit CMS.gov or call 1-800-MEDICARE.

I had the pleasure of joining community leaders, healthcare professionals, local businesses, and friends to celebrate the Ribbon Cutting for the beautiful new cottages at Manor Lake Assisted Living in Hiram, Georgia!

Congratulations to the Manor Lake team on this exciting expansion! It’s wonderful to see continued investment in providing quality housing and care options for seniors in our community.

One of my favorite parts of events like these is the opportunity to reconnect with familiar faces, make new connections, and celebrate alongside leaders who are committed to making Hiram and Paulding County such a special place to live and serve.

I was especially honored to spend a few moments with Hiram Mayor Frank Moran and so many dedicated community partners who are working together to support the growth of our city. It truly takes all of us working together to build a stronger community for seniors and families alike.

Thank you to everyone who made this celebration so memorable. Congratulations again to Manor Lake on the opening of these beautiful new cottages—I can’t wait to see the lives that will be enriched here for years to come.

We’re on Day 28 of our 30-day series, and today we’re tackling Medicare Scams. I know your phone might be ringing off the hook with "free" offers or people claiming to be from "the government." Here is my golden rule: If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is!

One big thing to remember: Never give your Medicare number over the phone to someone who called you out of the blue. Medicare will almost never call you unless you've asked them to.
