What is a Sand Oil Interceptor???
A sand-oil interceptor (or separator) is a pretreatment device that removes sand, grit, debris, and free-floating oil/grease from wastewater, typically in car washes, auto shops, and parking garages, preventing these pollutants from entering and clogging the municipal sewer system. It uses gravitational separation to trap sludge at the bottom and oil at the top, allowing cleaner water to discharge in the sanitary system.
