Look for the latest docuseries Secrets of Bees. Excellent cinematography, narration and as always intriguing insights into the fascinating world of bees.
“There are so many reasons why we need to remain engaged with these creatures. They are underpinning our success as human beings,” shares entomologist and Sammy Ramsey. 🐝
Bees are responsible for a massive portion of all the food humans consume. But their significance in agricultural economies and biodiversity maintenance isn’t inspiring enough momentum to protect them. Ramsey explains bees need a new narrative that reveals things about these buzzing organisms that aren’t as widely known.
That's where he comes in. Ramsey has been shedding light on the fascinating world of honey bees by bringing science education, via song and lecture, to various platforms for years. It’s a contribution to the epic “reboot” he believes the world’s most active pollinators need in order to thrive.

Choose your illusion. Is it cake, or in this case a flan or is it beeswax?
Let the holiday season begin!
And for the record you cant have holidays without honey, it just wouldn't be right.

Shoutout to the GoFarm folks for hosting their 11th Annual GoFarm Harvest Dinner at Baldoria on the Water.
Great to meet some of the small local farmers making a difference in the community by providing healthy, affordable locally grown produce while learning how GoFarm is helping them realize their dreams!
Can’t wait for next year’s growing season!
Support local growers!

One tip to keep honey from crystalizing is use a bigger spoon 😉
All honey granulates over time, it has not 'gone off.'
These two jars are from exactly the same batch. The left hand jar has been gently warmed to return it to a liquid without damaging the honey.
Crystallisation or granulation is caused by a higher glucose content in the nectar the bees collected.

Disappointing to say the least...
Beltsville Bee Lab to Disappear!
We just received a video from the esteemed Agriculture Secretary that USDA is being reorganized, and the Beltsville Bee Lab will be closed, employees will be reduced and who knows where Honey Bee Research will go.
This is what 'WE" will be losing, https://www.ars.usda.gov/northeast-area/beltsville-md-barc/beltsville-agricultural-research-center/bee-research-laboratory/
Then think of all the researchers who have contributed to us for decades, and the young researchers who may or may not be able move on to other opportunities, and the lab, equipment, facilities, research funding and lots lost momentum.
This is just wrong for our incredibly valuable industry that we are forgotten.
Take time to listen to Brooke Rollins the United States Secretary of Agriculture:
