Meet the Coach!

Mrs. Laura Bugg serves as the Varsity Basketball Cheerleading Coach at First Christian Academy. With 4 years of cheerleading experience at Buchholz High School, she brings both passion and dedication to the program. The upcoming school year marks her 10th year teaching at FCA and her 6th season coaching cheerleading.

From the very first pep rally, Mrs. Bugg knew she wanted to build a cheer program that would create energy, school spirit, and support for FCA athletics. With the support of the school, that vision became a reality and continues to grow each season.

One of her favorite parts of the program is the way the cheerleaders support every athletic team on campus — from banner making and locker room decorating to cheering on the sidelines and encouraging fans at the basketball games. She especially enjoys watching the athletes grow together as a team while challenging themselves with more advanced stunting, cheers, and leadership opportunities throughout the season.

The Varsity Basketball Cheerleading Program’s verse for the 2026–2027 season is: “By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples.” — John 15:8

Meet the Coach!

We are excited to welcome back Coach Alicia Jenkins as our Head Cross Country Coach this year.

With more than 15 years of experience training endurance athletes, Coach Jenkins brings a passion for developing strong running technique, confidence, determination, and Christian character to First Christian Academy.

A competitive runner for over 20 years, she has regularly completed in marathons, half marathons, mud-run/obstacle races, and countless 5Ks, 10Ks, and 15Ks. Coach Jenkins previously led the Cross Country teams at Santa Fe High School to multiple championships before spending the last few years in private athlete development/running technique training for both youth and adults.

Under her leadership last year, FCA Cross Country runners consistently took first place in meets, as well as district/conference championships. She also brings advanced training and certifications in sports nutrition, running technique, injury prevention, and muscular development.

Coach Jenkins is passionate about building fun programs that improve speed, stamina, strength, and mental toughness while helping runners achieve peak performance through structured training, injury prevention, and race-day strategy. Rooted in strong Christian values, she is equally committed to mentoring student-athletes both on and off the course.
