It was such an honor working with this family. This mamas was determined to get the birth she knew was healthiest & safest for her baby. So much so she switched providers after her current one no longer fit the bill! And it was a good thing but that provider was so supportive & reassuring while helping her navigate some trickier stuff towards the end. This mama went into her birth confident & well prepared & crushed it! And I’m so happy I got to be there to witness all of that strength!
This job is such a blessing & families like this make it even more so💕

And while I was with my other client Natalie Sterling came to the rescue again & helped this first time mama achieve her unmedicated hospital birth!
This mama’s birth came on powerful & strong. And yet she did it!
I was thankful it worked out that I could be there for the last two hours of her labor. This client was lucky enough to have two doulas serve her!
I was soooo proud of this client💕

The theme for this week apparently is shared birthdays. Because this morning welcomed two littles 4 hours apart!
Both mamas started with water breaking & questions on labor progression. But both were very sure they needed to go to the hospital at the exact same time!
This first mama got her unmedicated VBAC! She worked hard in preparing her body for this birth & gave herself the time & patience needed to get baby here safely.
She hired one of my favorite hospital providers who proved having a midwife can make all the difference. She brought such calm & reassurance into the space.
I’m so proud of this client💕

And while I was just two doors down with my other client, Natalie Sterling supported this client during her scheduled cesarean. Thankfully timing worked out that I could support her through recovery.
This mama worked hard to get her baby to turn head down. Ultimately baby stayed put. And this mama showed a lot of strength in pivoting her birth plan to a cesarean.
I was so blessed both of these clients had great care from the staff. And both had such happy births💕

Today was such a good birthday that it welcomed two babies! In my almost 11 years of this work I’ve never had two scheduled cesareans at the same time!
On my drive in I heard the most upbeat worship music. Proving that even when our births aren’t what we planned they can still be good!
This mama changed gears & recognized a cesarean was safer for her baby. And it was such a joyous birth!

And just like that, 2026 is fully booked! It’s such a blessing to have such a full schedule.

I am so excited for what the tail end of this year will bring. And very much looking forward to all of the babies coming in 2027!

Another very unexpected birth happened yesterday! This was a client I didn’t think I’d hear from for at least five weeks, if not more! But her baby had different plans. She had to completely pivot from her original birth plan. What an honor it was to witness such strength💕

Im hearing from so many repeat clients! It’s the best! As a result, my schedule keeps filling. 2026 is down to just 2 spots! And while January is still showing wide open February is almost full!

This morning a first time mama made quick work of bringing her baby here! I walked in at 6 am, she was 3.5 cm & immediately upon my arrival her water broke & she started to bear down. Baby was here by 8 am! And she did it unmedicated, exactly as she planned!
When this mama hired me she was with an OB. She felt the fit wasn’t quite right. We talked birth plan & she realized midwives may suit her needs better. And she made the hard switch that ended up working out so well for her!
