Hughes for Judge

Hi, I'm Michelle Hughes. I'm running for Associate Circuit Court Judge because I believe our court should be as approachable as it is fair.

I'm running to serve my neighbors and the community.

I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Jefferson County Labor Club, the St. Louis Labor Council AFL-CIO COPE, and all their members for their endorsement.

This support means a great deal to me personally. I come from a family that proudly works in the trades, including automobile manufacturing, plumbing, electrical and carpentry. Our community thrives on the backbones of skilled labor. It's the kind of work people may not always see, but everyone benefits from. When we invest training and money in a skilled workforce, that makes our homes safer, our roads safer and our communities safer.

I am humbled that you’ve selected me to endorse as the next Division 15 Judge for Jefferson County and I look forward to continuing to earn your trust and the support of all the voters in Jefferson County.

I often hear the question, “Why do you want to be a Judge?"

My answer is simple: I care about our community and our families. People come before the court during some of the hardest moments in their lives.

The legal system can feel overwhelming, especially for families already under stress. I believe courts should provide clarity, fairness, and practical solutions—not delay or confusion.

As judge, I would be committed to helping families move forward with dignity, respect, and a fair opportunity to be heard.

The Hughes for Judge team will be out knocking on doors and meeting Jefferson County voters over the next few weeks!

If you’re interested in having a yard sign, helping place signs, offering a spot for a sign, or standing with us at the polling booths on Election Day, August 4th, please email [email protected], and we’ll be happy to add you to our list of supporters.

Every sign, every conversation, and every volunteer helps to make a difference. Thank you for your continued support!

I often hear complaints about court taking too long and delays that frustrate and cause heartache.

People often feel that the court system is designed to confuse them or set them up to fail.

I want to humanize our system and show people that our courts can be clear, respectful, and accessible, giving every person a meaningful opportunity to be heard.

Today, I am grateful for the brave men and women of the armed forces who sacrificed their lives for our freedom.

Memorial Day is not just about barbeques. It is a day to remember the heroes who gave everything for our country, and to honor the families who continue to live with that loss — the parents, husbands, wives, sons, and daughters left behind.

May we never forget their courage, their sacrifice, and the price of our freedom. ❤️🤍💙

School is officially out for summer, and the Hughes family kicked it off in style!

We started the day at the Touch-a-Truck event at the High Ridge Library, where we climbed inside an awesome fire truck and even got to jump off the ladder.

Then we headed over to the St. Paul Parish Picnic for games, fun, and what just might be the world’s best funnel cake!

We met lots of families and can’t wait to start school there this fall. St. Paul is such a wonderful place for families, fellowship, and community.

The Hughes family had a wonderful time enjoying events throughout the community this weekend. We wrapped up Sunday with a visit to the German Cultural Society’s Donau Park Maifest, where the traditional music, dancers and food created such a fun atmosphere.

Events like these are a great reminder of what makes our community special — people coming together, celebrating traditions, and enjoying time with neighbors and friends.
