After March’s brief stabilization, April data points to renewed softness:
• Orders declined
• Shipments eased
• Backlogs remain under pressure
Consumer confidence is holding but expectations are cautious as inflation, interest rates, and global uncertainty weigh on decision‑making.
Furniture still ranks as the top expected big‑ticket purchase, but the path forward remains uneven.
