On this day in 1921, the Southern Furniture Exposition Building (SFEB) opened its doors in downtown High Point. The building has undergone numerous expansions over the years, including added stories and wings, reflecting the evolution of the Market itself!

Discover more about the SFEB and explore many other Market showrooms at our current exhibition, "High Point Welcomes the World," which will be open through October this year.

One of the most stylish older buildings in downtown High Point is the U.S. Post Office and Federal Building on the corner of East Green Drive and South Main Street. When it was dedicated in 1933, High Point rolled out the red carpet, welcoming dignitaries and the public inside an architectural landmark. Since this Post Office closed over 50 years ago and is now a furniture showroom, many locals have never seen the inside, and it is difficult as you drive by to notice the intricate details of the exterior.

In this week's History Hindsights blog post, Marian Inabinett explores the fascinating history of this High Point landmark and shares some interesting photos of the building's interior!
