Going back to my roots today and tracking on only gear I had back in 2012-2016. All preamps feeding into the Cranesong Spider converters. ADAT into an RME IO Pro card in the Mac. Should be a neat little experiment, maybe it’s just nostalgia but there was something extra special to me about the way all the records I did in that time sounded. Maybe it’s all just great memories. Who knows!

Guys…. I bit the bullet and bought a Mac Pro. If I concentrate really hard on ignoring my bank account I start to feel happy with my decision 😅😬

What monitor are you guys using? I might need to make a change and get something different and curious what some good options are these days

I picked up a Dangerous Liason to try and make my life with hardware a little more fun. I’m honestly surprised at the transparency of this box and being able to audition gear has never been more immediate for me. I also did a bunch of tests shipping the patch bays and trying different cables and found a pretty magical combination that retains as much lovely tone as possible and reduced the noise floor pretty dramatically. Fun!
