School is a place where students learn, and at The Piedmont School, it's also a place where students learn to believe in themselves! 🏫
Kori Mackall, Head of School for The Piedmont School , never had a single "aha" moment that made her want to work in education — it was just always part of who she was. And when she discovered The Piedmont School & John Yowell Academy, she discovered a place that shared her passion for seeing students with different learning styles given the support and resources needed to reach their full potential! ⭐
With a 6:1 student-teacher ratio, teachers who uncover each student's learning style, and a community built around students with dyslexia, ADHD, and other learning differences — this High Point school is giving families something they didn't always know was possible: hope.
Kids who once thought college wasn't in the cards are getting early acceptance letters. Students who struggled to find their voice are landing internships and apprenticeships. And a campus expansion that just broke ground in May is only the beginning!

What started as a quiet question in a pottery studio — "I wonder if I could do this?" — became one of High Point's most beloved creative spaces! ✨🎨
When Silena Hammond opened Distractions: An Arts Entertainment Studio as a homeschool project, a family business, and a place for her community to be pleasantly distracted, she never pictured the canvas of emotions it would become. Seven years later, it's been the backdrop for first dates, processing loss and grief, grandparent-grandkid bonding, and everything in between.
"Even though it's about the art, it's not about the art," Silena says. "It's about the people."
