A process emotive at its core, Kelsie Rudolph allows line, angle and curve to dictate abstract and intangible feelings into sculptural and functional design.

Grounded in quiet sophistication, Kelsie’s work emphasizes form, shape, and proportion over ornamentation. Each piece is a testament to her belief in material durability and aesthetic relevance, influencing the way we feel and experience our built environments.

Kelsie is based in Helena, Montana. You can see her work on our website and here in our showroom.

In the context of 𝘕𝘌𝘐𝘎𝘏𝘉𝘖𝘙𝘏𝘖𝘖𝘋, curator Angelina Rodgers () wanted to invite community interaction, and wanted to go big. This idea started as a mobile library, a collective research-drawing-writing-takeaway area, but opened up onto the wall with a 12x12' drawing. Working with photographer and illustrator Bill Green (), rolls of paper were rolled out and attached together on the ground. A late night charcoal session, 5 days before the opening of the show, inaugurated the drawing. Soon after, it was mounted on the wall, and Bill responded with figures, text, and symbols done with ink and marker in his style. Amongst a few more pre-opening sessions, Noah Martin (.blunt) came in with spray paint.

The drawing, presented alongside a pedestal full of mark-making materials, three seats, and a subtle video projection of silhouetted figures, exploded with cultural commentary during 𝘕𝘌𝘐𝘎𝘏𝘉𝘖𝘙𝘏𝘖𝘖𝘋's opening. Community members most notably used the stencils, getting creative with tags. The large scale created a space for people to arrive in, and it became a dynamic social performance—watching gallerygoers weaving in and out of the space, observing others add to the drawing, adding something themselves, and walking off with charcoal hands.

The drawing remains unfixed and open to additions until July 20. Come to the gallery (during open hours) to see what we’re thinking about this summer, and to show (or tell—we encourage text and image contributions) us what you’re thinking about.

“Moving from a needs-based profession to a wants-and-desires-based, has been difficult. But I think, particularly since I’ve had a studio in Cohab, I’ve gained clarity to see that, really I’m doing the same thing, but it’s packaged a bit differently.”

Amanda Hufford is a High Point-based metalsmith and jeweler. Her studio sits within the main building of our campus. Stop by our campus to see her work, see her in action or to just have a chat.

Some call it the "Art Bar," "Gallery Bar," "the bar in the gallery." Let us formally introduce, Cohab's Art Space Bar, designed and built by Noah Martin, with the help from . This bar was a part of the last renovations we did on our campus. It sits within our gallery -- hence "Art Bar."

The initial concept was to build a bar that's facade could be changed - showcasing different designers and ideas. The facade is Baltic birch with a stainless-steel top. The light fixture above the bar is built from rope found at an old navy shipyard.
