All private space is privatized space. If you have a house, you have a place to do everything you want to do in private. You should not shame those without housing for doing basic human activities in public. Because houseless people, by definition, do not have a place to do things people normally do inside their houses. The only place where houseless people can do those activities is in public. Especially as resources dry up because capitalists are soaking up more and more capital, houseless people have fewer places to go. The solution to this is not to criminalize and punish houseless people. It’s to make sure everyone has housing. It’s to de-privatize public space.

With the Supreme Court case (Grants Pass v. Johnson) allowing cities to make being unhoused illegal, the worst is coming fast. City of Greensboro is taking the first step to divest in the care of the most vulnerable citing crime & security.

They plan to build a cop city in Concord already and are building/have built more and more prisons in this state.

At the city council meeting on July 16, councillors refused to fund the IRC. The complaints of capitalists about trash and crime made councillors reluctant to support critical support for unsheltered people. This means the overburdened center will be forced to close, as of next week. As of Monday. Desperate people will have nowhere to go. People will die. This is where capitalism has led us. Politicians care more about trash than they do about corpses.
