Doctors tell us to exercise and eat right to keep our hearts fit and healthy. In the Bible the heart is considered to be the center of thought and feeling. It is so important that God cautions you to guard it above all else (see Proverbs 4:23) because your heart filters everything that happens to you and around you. When you neglect your heart, it becomes filthy and clogged with all kinds of foulness bitterness, jealousy, impure thoughts. A pure heart is the best prescription for a long, happy, and healthy life, and it is essential for living with integrity.

The path of the virtuous leads away from evil; whoever follows that path is safe. Proverbs 16:17 Having a close relationship with God will help you avoid sin. The closer you are to Him, the further you are from evil and the less likely you are to sin. Seek direction from the Lord, and you avoid many mistakes in judgment. Three reason to avoid sin, it will take you farther than you want to go, make you stay longer than you want to stay, and it will make you pay. Let's ditch it as soon as possible.
