Did you know High Point isn't just the furniture capital—it's also home to a thriving textile industry? 🧵✨

Meet Carrie Dillon, who leads the International Textile Alliance, representing 140 textile companies with deep roots in our city. Twice a year, their Interwoven trade show brings 1,500 industry professionals to High Point for the third-largest event in our city!

But here's the even more inspiring part: Carrie and her team are tackling the mountains of textile samples left behind after each show. Through partnerships with the Sustainable Furnishings Council and Material Return in Morganton, they've recycled nearly 1,000 pounds of fabric—turning what would've been trash into insulation, rug backing, and even new yarn. ♻️

Local textile company and ITA member De Leo Textiles is another story of textile sustainability! They've diverted 5,000 pounds from landfills while raising $60,000 for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and Epilepsy Foundation through their Upcycled for Hope program. Envisioned by High Point native, Katie, the Upcycled for Hope programs takes textiles and turns them into stylish (and impactful!) products for purchase! 👛 💚

High Point's textile story is about more than fabric—it's about innovation, sustainability, and a community that's weaving a better future, one thread at a time.
