Join me in welcoming PV2 Dolin, Cody!

Private Dolin shares that he enlisted in the United States Army seeking a fresh start.

Reflecting on his decision, he expresses no regrets, noting that he now feels a sense of purpose and anticipation for the future.

He acknowledges the newfound respect from friends and family, a sentiment he finds unfamiliar yet gratifying. His only regret is not enlisting sooner.

Currently serving as a 15F aircraft electrician, he eagerly anticipates his assignment at Camp Humphreys, South Korea, aiming to establish himself as a top performer in his field.

Despite unexpected turns, he credits the United States Army for shaping his journey and providing him with unforeseen opportunities.

The connection between the Irish, U.S. Army Rangers, and the town of Savannah, Ga, is, in fact, quite deep.

During the 1800s, Savannah became a hub for Irish immigration.
More than a century later, during the early stages of WWiI, Ireland became the birthplace of the U.S.
Army’s 1st Ranger Battalion, when the need for a specialized raid force in Europe arose.

In 1974, the 1st Ranger Battalion was re-formed and permanently based out of Savannah, Ga.

For many years, the Rangers of 1st Battalion have marched in the famed St. Patrick’s Day Parade in downtown Savannah to honor both the battalion’s WWIl roots and the city’s rich Irish culture.

Many moons ago 🌑

Let’s be honest, not every day is sunshine and rainbows. Don’t let any one fool you. Don’t let the multi millionaire tell you that, don’t let the recruiters for any military branch tell you that and don’t let any person tell you that college is like that.

But I know one thing, I’ve met some of the greatest human beings in the world. They have impacted my life in such a positive way and have made me a better person. For that, I can only thank the Army for putting these awesome people in my life.
