π Vehicle Crime Prevention Tips π
The Hewitt Police Department would like to remind everyone to take a few simple steps to help prevent Burglary of Motor Vehicles (BMV) and catalytic converter thefts.
π Lock your doors β Even when parked at home.
π Remove valuables β Donβt leave purses, bags, electronics, or fi****ms in your vehicle.
π‘ Park in well-lit areas β Lighting and visibility can deter criminals.
π Use cameras or motion lights when parking in your driveway or on the street.
π Protect your catalytic converter β If possible, park in a garage or close to your home, and consider installing a catalytic converter anti-theft device.
Most vehicle burglaries happen because vehicles are left unlocked or valuables are left inside. A few quick steps can make a big difference!
If you see suspicious activity in your neighborhood, please report it to the police.
Lock it. Hide it. Keep it. Do the Hewitt Hustle!
