It is my honor to represent & serve the residents of the 86th District in the VA House of Delegates.

On this first day of the 2024 General Assembly Session, I am humbled and honored to be in Richmond representing the people of the 8th District.

I am grateful that the voters have put their trust in me and I look forward to continuing the work we started together.

The history of the VA House of Delegates is long and storied. 405 years of existence—first starting as the House of Burgess—and it has taken until now to elect our very first Black Speaker in this body. The VA House Democratic Caucus is the most diverse today than it has ever been. More Virginians, more voices, backgrounds, and more lived experiences are represented in our state legislature as we strive to build a more reflective democracy. Today is a new day in the Commonwealth. And I couldn’t be more proud.

✨Happy New Year!!✨

I am incredibly grateful that the people of the 8th District have put their trust in me to represent them in the House of Delegates. Last night's victory would not have been possible without the tireless work of my team (special thanks to Mom & Dad!), volunteers, and supporters who spent countless hours knocking on doors and speaking directly to voters about the issues that matter most. I want to also thank the voters for believing in our shared vision of expanding healthcare, defending reproductive healthcare, improving public education, and ending gun violence.

Not only did we win here in the 8th District, but Democrats across the Commonwealth won last night, sending a resounding message that voters reject the extremist agenda of Governor Youngkin and Republicans. I am so excited to continue my service in Richmond under a Democratic majority in the House and keep Virginia moving in the right direction — FORWARD!

I am deeply honored by your trust and ready to get to work! Thank you.

🎊Endorsement Alert🎊 Thrilled to earn the endorsement of the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA)! With Dulles Airport right in our backyard, I'm inspired by the hard work AFA-CWA members do to care for travelers. As delegate, I’ll continue fighting for the policies that support all of Virginia’s workers - from affordable housing, childcare, & easier commutes, to living wages & the fundamental right of workers to organize & have a voice on the job. ✈️

Had such a great time getting to know the students in the inaugural cohort of Rural Empowerment’s partnership with Danville Community College. I was glad to tour Amazon HQ2 with them today and share our stories with each other over a delicious Indian meal.

Big thanks to the Amazon team for hosting us and to the leadership of Rural Empowerment who have poured their hearts into this project. A truly stellar example of a public private partnership to fuel economic growth and development in every corner of the Commonwealth!

The Finish Line: An Event Supporting Our Democratic School Board Candidates 11/01/2023

This is the only event with all 12 of them – and the final fundraising event of the campaign! Funds raised will help close their budget gaps as they race to reach voters in these last few days before the November 7th election!

The Finish Line: An Event Supporting Our Democratic School Board Candidates GET TICKETS TODAY: Thursday, November 2 at 7:00 PM in Vienna, VA.

🎊Endorsement Alert🎊 I am so honored to be endorsed by SEIU Virginia 512 & 32BJ SEIU! I'm proud to work alongside them to build an economy where all workers have the dignity of ivable wages, safe workplaces, and basic benefits such as paid sick leave. As the daughter of an SEIU member, I have seen firsthand the impact unions can have on the lives of their members. I will continue to support legislation that bolsters workers, including repealing Virginia’s “Right to Work” law, supporting collective bargaining rights, and fighting to ensure that union workers have a voice on the job.

I'm thrilled to share that Virginia Moms for Change has endorsed my campaign for re-election to the House of Delegates. This amazing group of parents is committed to ending gun violence, especially in classrooms, which is a goal that I strongly share. Their support means so much to me. Our children deserve to grow up free from fear of being shot in their classrooms, neighborhoods, or even their own homes. But the sad reality is that guns are the number one killer of kids in the United States today. In the legislature, I have proudly supported common-sense gun safety measures like universal background checks, red flag laws, and banning assault weapons. But our work is far from over, and it will be critically important to elect leaders this November who will stand up for common sense gun safety policies to prevent senseless tragedies in our communities. Make your voices heard at the ballot box!

I had a great time this morning at Xelevate with my colleagues Delegate David Reid, Atoosa Reaser for Delegate, and Saddam Salim for State Senate VA-37. What an amazing class G facility we’ve got right here in northern Virginia! 66 beautiful acres for testing UAS, AAM, and other technologies. Not to mention a team full of industry experts + skilled practitioners. Many thanks to the Xelevate team for hosting us. And an extra special thanks to my constituent, Louis, who helped to pull this meeting together and gave me my very first drone-flying lesson!
