Started late, but stared around 2, and just got back from a test drive at 7:45. Full rear end swap, had to pull the axles to exchange backing plate assemblies. From a 2.73 gear to 3.55 makes this thing significantly better! Maybe one day later it will get a locker.

Didn't take any action shots, but productive day. Front upper control arms replaced, aligned, new door strikers, swapped ECU and replaced the spark plugs.
This goes along with the already swapped front lower control arms, springs and shocks. As well as (stock) dual exhaust setup, since it was originally a single exhaust.
Finally finished out the Galaxie's exhaust. Much nicer having the music from its tail pipes instead of underneath!

Well, so much for these heads, both have cracks between seats. Good news is, the machine shop had a pair of the same castings that were abandoned, after getting decked and pressure checked (a year or 2 ago)! Now to transfer everything over, and a fresh set of valves.
Got some work done last night! Trunnion upgrade.

Made some "head"way in prep for the truck. Valves lapped, new seals and springs. Time to visit a machine shop to get decked.

Figured I'd throw this out there for fun.
The easy LS valve spring tool! Figured a quick show and tell, this tool is so simple yet awesomely helpful, and easier than the C-clamp style!

Buttoned up what I could on the mustang, fuel tank, drive shaft, and exhaust hung, then put it outside. Galaxie takes up some space, but got the rear wheel cylinders replaced and did the 3g alternator upgrade!

Productive day getting my buddy's ("new")Xterra off the trailer and drivable! Previous owner was wheelin and ripped the lower ball joint out of the control arm! Plus found a couple other negligent issues that we took care of with the hub bearing and brake pins.

A proper update of the engine setup/cooling system! More to come...
The '69 Galaxie is nearly operational! Engine setup is working well, finally installed the radiator, fan, belts and hoses! Temporary fan control installed for testing, and letting it get up to tem...
Made some progress on the Galaxie today!
