Website Launch Sale ✨

For the last several months I’ve had my hands full with a major project: overhauling our website with the help of a designer. Squarespace was a good home for our shop for many years, but without a web design background, I could never quite bring our site to a place where it felt truly representative of me and my work.

Now, with intentional design, updated photography, and a refreshed artist bio, it finally feels like me, and I couldn’t be more proud to share it with you.

To celebrate the launch and to thank you for your support, we’re running a 3-day sale. Shop any time now through Monday, June 15th at 11:59PM EST for 20% OFF your entire order. Use code NEWSITE at checkout. ❤️

Special thanks to Divya of , who helped bring our vision to life. ❤️

Your Love Means So Much More Than You Could Ever Know 💕

_________

Four of the cards from my Spring release are part of what I’ve been informally calling the “From the Heart” collection, a series pairing handwritten sentiments with abstract watercolors. With previous designs, I’ve been limited by how much text I could fit on the front of a card, but incorporating a handwritten element has allowed me to expand, speaking more fully and personally. Each design was created with intention and care, shaped around moments of grief, gratitude, love, and building a life together.

The card in this photo was given to Brian for his 42nd birthday. ❤️

🗑️ April Business Waste 🫙

Our journey as a small business trying to create as little waste as possible.
______

Another month, another honest look at the waste we generated, because sustainability is a practice, not a destination.

April kicked off Spring market season, so I knew going in that waste would be higher. Two drop-off markets meant individually stickering every item, adding more non-recyclable backing paper than usual. The bigger contributor this month, though, was supplier packaging. A bookkeeping journal arrived wrapped in rigid protective film and shipped in a coated bubble mailer. Packing tape adds up fast, too. It's one of those things I can't always control on the receiving end.

What I can control are my own choices, and I make them as intentionally as possible. While completely eliminating waste isn't realistic, I believe small, consistent choices add up, and progress matters more than perfection.

Our non-compostable and non-recyclable waste for April:
• Release paper from sticker labels
• Release paper from mailer envelopes
• Release paper from home compostable closure tape
• Scotch Magic Greener Tape (53% plant-based) that I used during my April pop-up
• Packaging tape from supplier packages
• Rigid protective plastic film from a journal
• Coated bubble mailer
• Plastic film from ink cartridges

Thank you for following along on this journey. It's not perfect, but every small choice matters. ♻️

Friends, I’m excited to share that our Hops Swedish Dishcloths are now available at the in Toppen*sh, Washington! 🍻

When the order came in, I was stoked to learn about the museum. It’s the only museum in North America dedicated entirely to the heritage of hop cultivation and it’s situated right in the heart of the Yakima Valley, which produces 75% of all hops in the US. Their collection spans 400 years of history, from colonial brewing to the modern hop farm and varieties that define today’s IPAs.

I’m honored to have our dishcloths in their gift shop! 🥰

The next design I wanted to highlight from our Spring Collection is our RVA Botanicals Card. 🍓🌿

I’ve been wanting to create an RVA card for years, but was never quite happy with how things turned out. After another crack at it, I ended up with not just one, but two new RVA cards! The first is this one here. 💕

If this design looks familiar, you might recognize it. I adapted the design from our popular RVA Botanicals Swedish Dishcloth to fit on a note card.

The design features the classic RVA logo and vintage images of plants that can grow in Richmond: blackberries, strawberries, and figs.

This sweetie is perfect for housewarming gifts, keeping in touch across the miles, or simply sending a thoughtful note for everyday correspondence.

Richmonders! 💕 Thanks so much to everyone who came out to the Fan Arts Stroll last week and stopped by my table! It was so lovely to have two days in a row of great weather and wonderful conversations with y’all. I especially enjoyed nerding out about Swedish dishcloths with the folks who were familiar with them while also getting to introduce a whole bunch of new folks to them too. 🤓

A huge thank you to my host Tom for the hospitality, and to Fan Arts Stroll for having me! 💕

Friends, at long last I’m excited to share that our Spring Collection has arrived! 🥳

If you’ve been following along, you may remember that I’d planned to launch mid-April. Last month ended up being busier than expected (in the best way) with friend celebrations, markets, website work, and family time, so I wasn't quite able to make it happen. I’m happy to finally be able to share them with you now! 💕

The first design I wanted to show you is the one you see here. It was made using an image sourced from a 1911 French dictionary and avocado skin dye. The botanical featured is coffee (coffee arabica). ☕️

Our Spring Collection includes eight botanical cards designed for everyday correspondence, and four heartfelt cards centered around moments of grief, gratitude, love, and building a life together.

Richmonders! I’m *very* late to post about it, but I’ll be popping up at today and tomorrow! 🥳 The Fan Arts Stroll is happening from 4PM-8PM both days. I'll be set up on the walkway in front of 2217 Grove Ave (boxed in blue in the photo) with all sorts of goodies. Hope to see you there! 🥰

May is here, so it’s time for another Seasonal Botanicals calendar flip. 🍓 The featured botanical this month is the strawberry (fragaria x ananassa). The image was sourced from an 1895 French encyclopedia. 📚

May is a busy month for me, though thankfully less hectic than April. I barely had a chance to catch my breath last month, so I’m glad things are settling back into a more normal rhythm. Here are the major items on my calendar:

• 5/2-5/10 - Shop Two Flea (*today is the last day of this market!*)
• Hosting Brian’s folks this weekend for my sister-in-law’s graduation from VCU’s MSW program
• 5/14-5/15 - Fan Arts Stroll Fan Arts Stroll
• New product drop - I’d hoped to release my new products last month, but April was way too chaotic, so I’m launching my new cards now.
• New website launch - My new site is still in the works, but it is nearly there. I can’t wait to show y’all the new look. ☺️
• Trip to NC at the end of the month to visit family ❤️

------------

♻️ As always, our calendars are:
• Printed on 100% recycled paper
• Packaged with 100% recyclable or home compostable materials
• Refillable! All designs are available fully packaged with stands *or* as "Refill Only" calendar inserts 💚
