••• In this series of Black and White darkroom prints I had the goal of highlighting male sexual assault at the hands of women. 1 in 6 men in the U.S experience some form of sexual assault in their lifetime. And that’s just what’s reported!!!! I personally know 3 men off the top of my head that were comfortable telling me about their experiences. Think about the men who don’t report because they are ashamed or they don’t realize they were a victim themselves. There is a double standard I’ve seen when it comes to male and female sexual assault that I do not agree with and isn’t spoken about enough. I have witnessed men be asked if they are gay simply because they reject a women’s advances. I’ve also seen men politely decline and still be groped and touched in a way that makes them uncomfortable BY WOMEN. I took inspiration from the video for the song “Papi” by and I used that to showcase the aggressive nature of assault I’ve witnessed done by women. Much love to both models for allowing me to use them to create this series and trusting me in my process •••

It’s like being neck-deep in water, yet you can’t help but stay where you are: somewhere between drowning and gasping for air.••• (anonymous poet)

I found an old gem from a series I did with nature with beautiful scenery captured though a mirror. It was so difficult carrying this large,heavy, fragile mirror the size of me and positioning it so that neither me nor my mom were seen. It puts a neat twist on the environment and makes one actually take in the photograph.......for instance this wood looks like a wild hog.
