Chicks, chicks, everywhere!!! Anybody looking for Guineas, turkeys, Ayam Ketawa, and Ayam Cemani? Our brooders are full here in Hempstead! Definitely springtime on the farm!

Things are about to get a bit crazy here, we've been super busy... stay tuned!!!

It is with heavy, heavy hearts that we bring this news to share with y'all today. This crazy heatwave combined with a sudden failure in our barn's mister system resulted in a huge loss of our bunny breeding stock. This is nothing short of a disaster and a heartbreaking loss for us. We pride ourselves on producing quality stock for our customers and a loss as great as this will surely have a huge trickle down effect along the way. We pray that you all will understand and continue to be a part of our BNKH family as we do our best to rebuild and come back even stronger. God's blessings to you and yours.

Too hot to be outside working, so we started preserving some of our squash harvest. We saved seeds from our spaghetti squash and Butternut Squash, canned some Butternut Squash, made some spaghetti squash casserole to put in the freezer, and froze the rest of the spaghetti squash to use in another recipe later. A very productive day!

Busy busy busy... Got the "H" here helping today, along with 3 of the "K"s. Harvested some spaghetti and Butternut Squash, Found our first watermelon on the vine, sliced up the potato harvest to dehydrate and can, and now planting seeds to rejuvenate the garden! Yes, we are planting inside, with a heat index of 102⁰, you bet we bring it all inside! Thank you Lord, for our long growing season!

Bizzy day on the farm! So thankful to have another "K" join us today! We harvested honey, for the first time ever, from our own hive, worked in the garden, and harvested some yummy veggies! Now to get ready for another be removal in the morning!

Wish we could spend the whole day in the garden today... the storm pushed out all the humidity and it's absolutely gorgeous outside with the breeze! A quick walk-through of the garden shows that there will need to be a potato-digging day soon, and our badly neglected grape vines have proven they thrive in neglect... 😆 we have bunches of grapes forming for the first time ever.

The garden is growing more than just weeds! Lol! We just harvested our onions, 2 types of squash, blackberries are ripening, and we have an apple on our apple tree for the first time! How does your garden grow? 😍
