This week we’re thankful for our Star of the Week: LUCCA LOFARO!

Lucca is a sophomore from Woodstock, NY. He’s currently pursuing a BA in Drama Performance. This semester, Lucca played Don John in A Giddy Thing and worked in the Scene Shop. A fun fact about him is that he’s a trained Guinean drummer (and kind of dancer).

Lucca is one of the coolest people you’ll ever meet. He’s super talented, super smart, and super wonderful overall. We can’t wait to see how he continues to grow. Great job Lucca!

Beep boop beep it’s our Star of the Week: BETH AUSTIN!

Beth is a sophomore from Nashville, TN. She is pursuing a BFA in Drama (Production). This semester she worked as an ASM on Cymbeline, and you’ll see her as an SM for Woyzeck next semester! A fun fact about Beth is that she has dreams about zombies at least once a month and every single one is entirely different. She sometimes thinks about the past in terms of which zombie dream happened when.

Beth is an amazing presence to be around! She is always a voice of reason and a source of joy for those around her. Anybody working with her is lucky indeed. Keep up the good work Beth!

It’s time for this semester’s first Star of the Week: ABBY DESYR!

Abby is a sophomore pursuing a BA in Drama Performance. You can see her this semester in The Wolves playing #00! Additionally, a fun fact about Abby is that she is from Stamford, CT.

Abby is a hard worker in whatever she puts her mind to. She’s an absolute pleasure to work with as an actor, creator, and overall peer. Congratulations Abby!

APO’s first masterclass of the semester is here! Come join us for a silly, unhinged, energy drink-fueled night of improv that you won’t forget. This masterclass is also in collaboration with one of Hofstra’s favorite improv groups, Tequila Mockingbird! We can’t wait to see you there.

And our final senior spotlight goes to: MICHAEL ARTUSO

Name: Michael Artuso

Namesake: Brother Robert Rokicki

Hometown: Hicksville, NY

Favorite Hofstra production you worked on: Revolutionists

Favorite classroom: Lowe 216

Faculty member that changed theatre for you: Art Solari

Parting advice for underclassmen: Don’t let your dreams be dreams. Yesterday you said tomorrow, so just do it.

Your time at Hofstra in one sentence: A medium Baja Blast with no ice please.

Michael Artuso is extremely bright and multi-talented, but most importantly he is one of the kindest, most heartwarming people at Hofstra. His energy is like a big hug that makes each person he knows feel better for having been around him. He is generous with his time and gifts, endlessly funny, and has a voice like no other. We will miss him greatly, but are so thrilled for all he has and will go on to accomplish! Congratulations, Mike!
