Introducing the 2025–2026 Counseling Mentorship Committee ! This team of dedicated students from across the counseling programs is here to foster connection, support, and growth within our community. Whether through mentorship, events, or collaboration, the committee’s goal is to create a space where every student is seen, supported, and empowered throughout their journey in the program.
The committee is hosting its first event today from 2:00 to 4:30 in the lobby of Hagedorn Hall. Current students and alumni, as well as faculty are welcome to pop in, grab a treat, mingle, and connect !
Any graduates currently employed in a community setting who can come to Hofstra this Thursday between 2:00-4:45 for about 45 minutes to speak to current interns about your roles, responsibilities, and experiences? We would like to showcase community work. Also looking for graduates who can speak to the foster process as well as family treatment court.
Please comment here or email Dr. Genevieve Weber ([email protected])
Will consider Zoom as well!!
Thank you!
Another important congratulations to Dr. Laurie Johnson who retired as a full-time time faculty member. For 35 remarkable years, "Dr. J" has shaped the fields of counseling and mental health education with unparalleled dedication, innovation, and heart. We are incredibly grateful for her role in building and leading our counseling programs and look forward to having her teach select classes as an adjunct professor!
Here is a collage of memories over the years.
