My name is Meagan and I’m the metalsmith at Sweet Pea Custom Silver.
I specialize in custom jewelry and accessories, and also offer jewelry repairs and remakes.
My silversmithing journey started in my home state of Alaska 17 years ago, and it’s moved all over the place with me.
I grew up working construction and got into commercial fishing at age 16.
After 8 years of living on boats during the summer and traveling for the winter, I moved to Texas where I stopped drinking and started driving horse-drawn carriages in Austin.
I’ve been a chauffeur, zipline tour guide, work camp cook, commercial fisherwoman, and even a heavy machinery operator.
But my biggest achievement is setting myself up to be able to share my trade with others.
Whether it’s making a custom piece of jewelry or teaching a silversmithing class, I love that I get to be a full-time self-employed Silversmith.
I’ve been in business full-time for 5 years in Montana, and now it’s time to look further ahead before I make my next move.
I have a workshop I’ve rented in Three Forks, Montana, but it’s not open to the public this summer.
In addition to silversmithing and lapidary work, I’m working on a couple of custom vehicle builds.
I think they may be available to purchase soon too, so let me know if you’re interested in the Mini Mining Mobile or the 1983 Toyota Dolphin with a loft conversion in the works!
Even though my silversmithing workshop and company space is closed to the public for the summer,
I still offer silversmithing classes at your private workshop location or public venues.
I travel all over Montana to sell my wares and offer classes.
And right now I’m scoping out potential new locations for Sweet Pea Custom Silver LLC, myself, and my two dogs.
I’m open to a small, visitor-friendly town in Montana or another state!
I love the mountains and would like to be near lots of trees.
I also want to live somewhere more community-oriented than your average town.
