16-27! Please help our Student Library Advisory Council raise money to replace our aging and
battered books.

That's a Wrap! Blind Date with a Book was a huge success. Over 40 books successfully matched with readers. Thanks SLACers for all the extra wrapping required to meet the demand! The 3 winners of our drawing are pictured enjoying the sweet fruits of their reading labor.

Our Read it Forward tree was bursting with lights this year! So many kids reading and passing books forward during December and January :) Awesome Job HMS Readers!

A Wonderful turnout last night at our HMS Cultural Exploration featuring Afghanistan. Our presenters were excellent and the food was amazing and plentiful! Thank you to our HMS families for showing up, bringing food and creating a vibrant and inclusive learning community.

HMS Codegirls enjoy a demonstration of coding applications by a local Robotics League.

For the 5th year in a row we are delighted to have Mr. Miller coming to volunteer with our Robotics Club. So many kids have caught the coding bug under his expert tutelage!

RIF WRAP. The HMS Student Library Advisory Council wrapped up books ahead of our annual Read it Forward program! Students will find “gifts” around the school this week, that they are then encouraged to unwrap and read. Afterwards they can pass the book forward to another reader earning more entries to our RIF drawing in January.

There’s a book for that!! HMS students and staff pulled out all the stops on their creative costumes this year!

First HMS Cultural Exploration In the bag! Thank you so much to the Saif family who shared with us the amazing and utterly beautiful geography and rich culture of Yemen. We feasted on amazing Yemeni foods provided by the Saifs and the HMS SLAC students; learned about the beautiful ancient cities of Yemen as well as the unique ecology of Socotra Island; explored the beauty of arabic text and henna designs; and experienced a very unique part of the world from the comfort of the HMS library!
