I was honored and pleased to be asked by the Association of Montana Troopers to be the first former Montana Attorney General to publish a message to the Troopers in the their Spring 2025 magazine. Serving with the Montana Highway Patrol was one of the best parts of my time as AG.

So January 9th is National Law Enforcment Appreciation Day. Thank you LEO's, and your families, for your service and sacrifice! Every day is Law Enforcement Appreciation Day for me to my LEO friends and colleagues.

I look forward to watching the MSU Bobcat Spirit of the West Marching Band perform at halftime at the FCS National Championship football game. Pleased to have donated to make sure the MSU Spirit of the West Marching Band performs at the big game.

I was pleased to be asked to attend the swearing-in ceremony for the officers of the new Montana state Lodge of the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP). Congratulations to these new officers:

The Utah and Colorado FOP Lodges have been wonderful for all the assistance they've given to Montana law enforcement officers and their families in their time of need. I'm excited to see the great things that the Montana FOP Lodge will do for Montana LEO's and their families. Oh, and I'll be joining the Montana Lodge. Thank you FOP for supporting our LEO's and their families.

Congratulations to my friend Pam Bondi on her nomination to be America's next United States Attorney General. You will do a great job!

I miss my annual gentlemen's wager with over the Griz-Cat football game. Senator Daines was gracious to wear a Griz sweatshirt, a Griz neck tie, and to have Griz bumper stickers on his pick-up truck in years past.

Yesterday I was honored to graduate from The American Legion, Department of Montana, Legion College and to receive my diploma from National Commander James A. LaCoursiere Jr., and Montana Department Commander Ken Simon.

The American Legion does a lot of great work in Montana communities and with Montana youth. Legionnaires run American Legion Baseball, Boys and Girls State, a youth oratory contest with scholarships, and so much more.
