Some days on the Missouri River are about the fish. Others are about the memories.

This one was both.

A family of five, three boys eager to learn, and a river that delivered in every way. Brown trout, Rainbow trout, and even the often overlooked Rocky Mountain whitefish reminded us that every species has a story to tell.

Watching parents share this experience with their kids is one of my favorite parts of what I do. Years from now, the details of each fish may fade, but these moments together on the water won't.

The Missouri River keeps producing more than trout. It creates memories that last a lifetime.

What's your favorite memory from time spent outdoors with family?

Two weeks of chasing fish in the Bahamas and South Florida reminded me of something important. Catching another Permit was a highlight, but the best part was time spent with old friends, new friends, and making memories along the way. After getting home and rolling into Memorial Day weekend in Montana, it was a good reminder that the places we love are really about the experiences and people that come with them. Montana still feels pretty hard to beat.🐟🏠For the full blog post, check the link in my bio.

Memorial Day weekend in Montana was a good reminder that the best days are usually pretty simple. Old friends, new friendships, time on the water, and memories made along the way.

The fish were great, but the conversations, laughs in the boat, and good people are what stick with you the longest.

Happy Memorial Day weekend everyone, and thank you to the men and women whose sacrifices make weekends like this possible.

Some mornings don’t need words. Just clean water, a calm run out of Islamorada, and the anticipation of what’s ahead.

Two weeks of saltwater, sunrises, blistered hands, and memories that will stick with me for a long time. From the flats of Abaco Lodge to the waters of South Florida and the Florida Keys, this trip was a reminder of why I love the outdoors and the lifestyle that comes with it.

One week I’m chasing trout under big Montana skies. The next I’m stalking bonefish, tarpon, and permit in turquoise water. Different worlds, same obsession. Fishing has taken me to some incredible places and introduced me to some even better people.

Back to Montana soon, but the salt is still in my veins.

I’ve spent a lifetime around wild places and wildlife, but this was a first for me. While fishing out of Everglades City in South Florida, we came across one of the rarest sights I’ve ever seen… a wild flamingo.

As someone who spends most of his time guiding in Montana and working in real estate across big western landscapes, it’s moments like this that remind me why I’m drawn to wild places in the first place. You just never know what the next bend, tide, or cast is going to reveal.

From the Missouri River to the Everglades, the outdoors never stops surprising me.

Abaco just reminded us who is really in charge. Fishing was good before this storm rolled in and the slow motion video barely does it justice. Heavy rain, hard wind, and true island weather. That’s fishing in the Bahamas.

First time at Abaco Lodge and it’s already one of those trips you don’t forget. Good water, decent weather, and a crew of guys who make every day better than the last. A lot of laughs, a few fish, and exactly the kind of company you hope for when you get a group like this together. Grateful to be here.

Spring in Montana, and some traditions don’t change.

I’ve been chasing morels with my dad for as long as I can remember. We started in the Flathead Valley when I was just a kid. Now I’m 52, he’s 84, and we’re still out there covering ground together—these days along the Missouri River bottoms.

Different place, same routine. Slow walks, sharp eyes, and that feeling when you spot one tucked into the dirt. Add in bullsnakes crossing your path and turtles waking up in the sun, and it’s a reminder that this season is about a lot more than just mushrooms.

Somehow, we still find them. And more importantly, we still get to do it together.
