I've gotten into turning game calls lately. Here is a Turkey friction pot call I turned yesterday. It is a slate over glass call in a cherry body.

Thank you Ziegler Laser Worx LLC for the laser engraving work on this Paduak plaque. I made this plaque as a gift for my niece and her fiancé. This is the natural color of the wood, it isn't stained. I finished it with an oil and polyurethane blend I make.

It has taken me 9 months of research and building, but my first electric guitar build is complete. It is made from layered laminations of Canarywood, Maple and Paduak for the neck through design, the wings have a Honduran Mahogany core. The fretboard is Bolivian Rosewood with glow in the dark fret markers using glow mic inside of a thin brass tube. I milled and glued all of the wood, drew out the shapes, hand carved the body, etc. Every part of this except hardware was made by me. I also made the matching control k***s and turned the Paduak pickup selector switch k**b. The finish is a hand rubbed highbuild oil finish I made using Tung oil, mineral spirits and polyurethane. It isn't perfect, but I definitely learned a lot and had fun in the process! I haven't named it yet, but the serial woodburned into the back of the headstock is Marc-001. With the colors, I'm tempted to name it Ironman, lol.

Now that I have given it to it's recipient as a thank you, I can share my first pen in over 6 months. Unfortunately I didn't get great photos, but here it is! The blank was purchased and is a hybrid made with pinecone and resin.

I just realized that I never posted the finished white oak toybox/blanket chest. I decided on cedar for the bottom of it. The hinges are torsion hinges and they are rated for 60lb/in each, they keep the lid raised at every angle to prevent it from falling on little fingers. The finish is Osmo hard wax oil.

Shop time, making more memories! Love this little man! He had a real face shield on while we were working, lol.
We are close to having all the frame work of his White Oak toy box cut to final dimensions.
