Tony Sandoval has called Heber home for nearly 15 years but his ties to the community go deeper. Tony grew up in Heber, his grandparents Olga & Lupe Velazquez still live in the same home. Tony’s parents, aunts and uncles – Lupe, Marco, Lydia, Olga and Terry went to Heber School and later Central Union High School. Today, Tony and his wife, Perla, are the proud parents of three children, Andes (21)

Tonight, we had the opportunity to celebrate Lizzie Cardenas, who was recognized by ACSA Region 18 as Administrator of the Year.
This is a well-deserved recognition for the work she does every day in support of our students, families, and schools. Her leadership continues to make a real difference in our community.
Congratulations, Lizzie. We’re proud of you.

Earlier this month, the Board of Trustees approved the promotion of Lizzie Cardenas to Director of Student Services.
Lizzie previously served as Principal on Special Assignment, where she supported students, staff, and schools across our district. Her experience and commitment to our community have made a real difference.
In this role, she will continue supporting students and families, especially those who need it most.

Earlier this month, the Board of Trustees approved the promotion of Darlene Herrera to Assistant Superintendent of Teaching & Learning.
Darlene’s leadership for our has made a real difference for students, staff, and families. She understands our community, and she leads with heart and purpose.
Now, she’ll be able to support teaching and learning across the entire district. A win for all of Heber.
