STUDIO1529 ~ I’m very excited to announce that my first solo photography exhibition is happening next month in the gallery at Chalk Hill Artist Residency. I will be showing portraits of a number of the artists whom I have had the pleasure to work with over the last two years during their time at the Ranch. Nine artists, represented by 16 images. It could have been 10x that size, but for my first show, I think it makes sense to keep it manageable for the space. I’m grateful to Executive Director Margo Warnecke Merck and Program Director Martine Matejczyk for the opportunity. I hope local friends come by to say hello and view the art between 1 and 4 PM. ~ Doug

This fall we are proud to release a special vintage of mind blowing-ly 🤯 delicious Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Pinot Noir.⁣
If you have been following us for the last 13 years then you know to expect a unique balance between complexity, grace and power.⁣
Our volcanic site challenges the wines to reach their full potential while retaining acidity and sculpting refined tannins.⁣

The ‘22 Cab delivers blackberry and roses backed by provencal herbs.⁣
The ‘22 Merlot calls it in with bright red fruit hemmed by bergamot and cloves.⁣
The ‘23 Pinot Noir (if you are shy about structure and want only silky smooth) is an opulent dark cherry experience mingled with white pepper and forest floor. ⁣

A unique opportunity to see permanent works on paper from an artist mostly known for performance drawing in public spaces. This exhibition displays select spreads from a book of drawings that have at their heart a n**e figure drawing session with two models in the artist’s living room. The gestures of touch are occluded by layers of process that tell the story of personal interactions: pencil transferred to copper etching, light from a stage, shadows of the seasons, and the freedom to paint dreams with digital overlay.

Alley Gallery is located right off the plaza, through a little alley off the east side, in downtown Sonoma at the LaHaye Art Center (148 E. Napa St., Sonoma 95476). www.alley.gallery
