The Eta Delta chapter of Alpha Phi is located at California State University East Bay. Alpha Phi is a women’s fraternity that has been everlasting since 1872.

The innovative leadership and organizational practices of Alpha Phi's Founders in 1872 set the spirit for the Alpha Phi of today...a sisterhood that values the past but looks forward to the progress offered by the future. It is a sisterhood that is sincere and closely tied with the fundaments of leadership, friendship, loyalty, scholarship, and service.

Our sisterhood doesn’t end at graduation. As we continue celebrating the women who helped shape Alpha Phi Eta Delta, we’re taking a moment to spotlight some of our amazing alumni whose impact continues to be felt long after their time on campus.

We shine our light on sister Elizabeth! 💐💕 Her dedication, kindness, and commitment to Alpha Phi Eta Delta have left a lasting impact on our chapter.

Let’s hear from her 🎙️

“Hi everyone! My name is Elizabeth Gutierrez and I’m from San Jose, California. I will be graduating with Summa Cum Laude when receiving my bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a minor in human development! I joined Aphi in the spring semester of my sophomore year and I wished I’d joined sooner 🥹

I knew Alpha Phi was the right choice for me as soon as I met the sisters. Everyone was so nice and welcoming right from the start. I never had to worry about feeling left out, as the sisters made sure I was never alone throughout the new member process!

During my time, I was able to hold the executive administrative position. I learned new soft skills and got to see the inner workings of aphi. I would recommend the position to any sister who wants to learn more about our traditions and what makes alpha phi unique!

My best memories in aphi would have to be the Big/Little process! It’s such a fun time seeing sisters find their perfect match. I loved picking up my littles and having them guessing during clue week. I’m grateful I was able to pick up twins in my final year 🥰

After I graduate I plan to work in the school systems while I apply to Master’s programs! I hope to gain experience in the field and make small change where I can 😊

We miss you and love you forever, Elizabeth 💌

Today we’re shining all the love on our girl Moryll for 🤍 She has made a mark in the most beautiful way. Her kindness and genuine heart light up every room and our sisterhood wouldn’t be the same without her.

Let’s hear from her 🎙️

“Hi! I’m Moryll Rodriguez-Bell, i’m a graduating senior this Spring 2026 semester, getting a degree in Bachelors of Science in Psychology with a Human Factors and Ergonomics Concentration. I transferred to CSU East Bay Spring semester of 2025 and joined Alpha Phi a semester later. Outside of academic work, you can find me journaling, out with my family or friends and exploring the outdoors through hiking, camping and spontaneous backpacking trips. 🏔️🥾

I joined Alpha Phi to be a part of a community filled with kind, genuine, and supportive women. Growing up with two brothers, I’ve always valued having strong female connections, and my experience has truly exceeded my expectations. Alpha Phi has become a space where I’ve grown so much personally.

My best memories in Alpha Phi come from the big/little experience. Finding out who my big was brought so much excitement and led to a lifelong friendship with someone who inspires me. Picking up my little was just as fun and suspenseful, making it another unforgettable experience and the beginning of a lifelong friendship that I look forward to growing.

After I graduate, I’ll be attending San José State University in Fall 2026 to pursue my Masters degree in Human Factors and Ergonomics while working toward an internship that aligns with my research interests in automotive or aviation. My goal with this next step is to become a Human Factors Engineer and build a fulfilling career while still making time to travel, explore the outdoors, and enjoy life beyond work.

Thank you to Alpha Phi and all of the wonderful women I’ve had the chance to get to know in such a short time. I am so grateful for the friendships and memories that will stay with me long after graduation💕”

We love you and we will miss you forever, Moryll 💌

Happy 💛 Once an Alpha Phi, always our Brightstar. She has left a glow in our chapter that will never fade 🫶 We are beyond proud of everything you’ve accomplished and the woman you’ve become 🤞🏻

Let’s hear about her experience 🎙️

“Hi everyone! My name Bright Star Rodriguez.
I’m a graduating senior with a B.S. in Health Sciences and I joined Alpha Phi as a transfer student from the Peralta district Spring ‘24. I’ve always had a passion for singing, trying new foods, hanging out with friends and family, the gym, and as of recently have been getting back into my journaling hobby.

I joined Alpha Phi in the most unexpected but perfect way ✨ I first came across it while scrolling through different organizations before I transferred, and then I saw their recruitment table after class which felt like a little sign 🫶.

My experience in Alpha Phi has been nothing short of amazing ✨ From the very beginning, I felt welcomed, supported, and truly seen for who I am. One of the most meaningful parts of my experience has been getting to be a big—not just once, but twice 🥹 I was lucky enough to pick up two littles, and each of those moments meant so much to me 🤍

Through my Alpha Phi journey I had the opportunity to serve as both the Coordinator of Alum & Family Engagement and the Director of Events. These experiences helped me grow in leadership, confidence, and organization, and made my time in Alpha Phi even more meaningful 🦋✨

One of the most emotional memories was seeing my big graduate 🥺 Even though our time together felt short, we still continue to make time for each other now, which just shows how strong and lasting the sisterhood here really is picking up my 2 littles,Caroline and Carina, will always be some of my favorite memories 💞

After graduation, I hope to bring more empathy and a public health perspective back into the medical field. I want to be part of a space where patients feel truly seen, heard, and safe. Pursuing a focus in mental health is an additional path I want to take alongside becoming a PA 🫂”

We love you dearly, Brightstar 💌
