The Hayward Air Rally is a non-profit event designed to test pilots' skills in navigation, fuel management/planning and waypoint identification, whose proceeds go to benefit EAA Young Eagles scholarship programs. In its 50-year tradition, the Hayward Air Rally has taken its participants over the Sierra Nevada mountains, through the desert southwest and up into southern Oregon while awarding its co
mpetitors for their precision flying and planning abilities. Our competitor list includes airline captains, fighter jocks and pilots of every experience level who all love the companionship and camaraderie that an event like this provides. This competition is designed for pilots of all abilities and aircraft types and is flown strictly in VFR conditions and with the safety of ground support and other participants en route. We also have two categories: Traditional (steam gauges and radio nav only) or Digital class (Glass panel, GPS and fuel management OK) so teams can compete with whatever equipment they choose or feel most comfortable using. Registration is limited to the first 50 entrants. For more information, see our website at http://www.hwdairrally.org/index.shtml or email [email protected].
The Hayward Air Rally is 501c3 non-profit organization whose focus is to provide safe competition in a friendly environment and whose proceeds go to provide EAA student scholarships.
