A tight tolerance on paper doesn’t always translate to a stable process on the shop floor.
What makes one grinding process repeatable and scalable while another struggles with variability?
Join John Shegda for a new technical session exploring the real-world engineering factors behind high-precision grinding success.
Topics include:
✔ Tolerance stack-up & process capability
✔ Inspection strategy vs. true process control
✔ Abrasive interaction & wheel structure
✔ Material behavior & repeatability challenges
✔ Engineering decisions that affect production stability

Wednesday night, we celebrated Sue Cloran and her retirement after 10 years with M&S Centerless Grinding, Meron Medical, and KMM Group. 💙
Sue shared this reflection as she begins her next chapter:
“As I step into retirement and begin a new chapter beyond KMM Group, I’m filled with deep gratitude for my journey here. Being part of this team, helping companies turn their visions into reality and collaborating with some of the most dedicated and talented people in the manufacturing world has been nothing short of inspiring. I sincerely wish continued success to our customers, vendors, school partners and the entire KMM family. I eagerly look forward to witnessing the exciting achievements and bright future that lie ahead for this remarkable organization.”
We’re incredibly grateful for everything Sue has contributed over the years, from the relationships she built to the many ways she represented the company throughout its growth and evolution.
Thank you, Sue, for being part of the journey. We wish you happiness, relaxation, travel, and many exciting adventures ahead!

In 1914, Earnest Shackleton supposedly placed this ad in a newspaper looking for men to accompany him on his expedition to the Antarctic:
“Men wanted for hazardous journey. Small wages. Bitter cold. Long months of complete darkness. Constant danger. Safe return doubtful. Honour and recognition in case of success.”
Shackleton was overwhelmed with 5000 applicants who saw the words SAFE RETURN DOUBTFUL and thought: you know what? HELL YES!
They saw a nearly impossible challenge and clamored to get on board.
Shackleton’s ad wasn’t written to attract everyone. Just the right people.
What we do in manufacturing isn’t as potentially deadly as an expedition to Antarctica in 1914, but the challenge is very real. The work we do here is often the work others can’t figure out, won’t attempt, or don’t have the patience to solve. Tight tolerances. Complex geometry. Critical applications where details matter.
We’re looking for people who:
↦ Stay curious
↦ Want to keep learning
↦ Want to build components that save lives and go into space
↦ Say YES to a challenge knowing they can handle it
That’s not for everyone.
But it might be for you.
Join the team that takes on challenges other don’t.

You ever catch yourself thinking…
“This could be done better.”
Not out loud.
Just in your head while you’re working.
You see things others don’t.
You’d tweak it, improve it, tighten it up… if you could.
In our shop, that instinct isn’t ignored.
You're paid to think.
If you're looking for your next opportunity and this sounds like you, let's talk.
👉 or, send this to someone who’s always thinking one step ahead

You can tell a lot about a shop…
just by looking at the parts.
Edges. Finish. Consistency. Detail.
you can tell someone took pride in it.
That’s the difference.
The work speaks for itself at KMM Group.
Because the people behind it care enough to make it right.
If you’re the kind of person who notices that difference…
you’re probably the kind of person we’re looking for.
👉 tag or share with someone whose work always stands out

Real talk…
Good machinists are hard to find.
Great ones? Even harder.
That’s why we’re hiring.
We’re looking for people who take pride in their work and want to be challenged by it.
✔ Clean, climate-controlled shop
✔ Real opportunities to grow your skills
✔ Work on complex parts where precision actually matters
Multiple roles open across machining, grinding, EDM, inspection, and more.
