What if your hair could tell me what exactly you've been up to...?
I get asked a lot about how I figure out where to start with someone experiencing hair loss. Testing is a key part of it.
Hair follicle testing in one tool that I use which looks at what's been going on inside your body over roughly the last three months. It can point to which system has taken on the most stress - whether that's your gut, your hormones, your adrenals and it shows us where your nutrient levels have been running low.
Instead of guessing at supplements or hoping a routine works, we get real information first. Then the plan I build for you is based on your actual body, not a general list of things that “work for most people”.
It's one of my favorite tools in this practice because it takes so much of the uncertainty out of the process. You get real answers, and I get to build something that actually fits your life.
Have you ever wondered what your hair would say about the last few months with you?

Losing weight AND losing hair?!?
If you've noticed more hair in the shower or your brush lately, and you've also been dropping pounds, those two things are almost certainly connected. Fast weight loss is hard on your body. Your hair follicles are some of the first cells to feel it when you're not eating enough.
A good rule of thumb is 4 to 8 pounds a month. That's a pace your body can actually handle without panicking. And it's not just about protein. Your hair needs a full range of whole, real foods to keep doing its job.
If you're in the middle of a weight loss journey and want to know what your hair actually needs right now, come see me. We can figure out what your body needs to support both goals at once.

I don't just work with people who are experiencing hair loss.
Most of the time, hair loss doesn't just start with hair spontaneously falling out. It starts with a scalp that's been uncomfortable for a while. Itchy, flaky, tight, irritated - whatever it is for you.
Come in while it's still “just your scalp”. That's the easy part to fix.
Here’s what your first hair loss appointment looks like - and it’s not scary. Like, at all.
There’s often hesitation with starting something when the whole process is foreign. So I want to show you exactly what a Hair & Scalp Analysis looks like.
Almost every client starts their journey just like this (unless they’re coming in for a scalp facial).
You arrive in my suite - nestled amongst other wellness & beauty providers, rather than a medical facility - and hop into my chair.
We’ll chat about your lifestyle, habits, medical issues and - of course - the concerns that have brought you to see me! Then I’ll take a specialized microscope and inspect your scalp and hair follicles. I’ll take pictures with the scope and we’ll document your starting point.
Then we’ll talk about your goals, timeline and budget. And from there I’ll create a plan forward (usually more than one so you have options) to get you moving toward the finish line. It’s a collaborative process where you share the methods and practices that you’re comfortable with and I find a way to make it all work.
I can’t wait to have you feeling healthy & confident again!

Ready to tackle your hair & scalp issues but aren’t sure where to start?
Not problem. Your first appointment will depend on what your scalp is telling you.
Feeling like there’s something off with your hair or scalp but you can’t quite put your finger on it? If it’s been going on for less than a year and you aren’t noticing any thinning or loss - BOOK A SCALP FACIAL
If it’s been going on for over a year or you’re noticing hair loss & thinning as well - BOOK A HAIR & SCALP ANALYSIS
If you’re experiencing either of these things and you also have GI issues, hair breakage or a skin disorder that affects your scalp (rashes, psoriasis, eczema) - ADD A HAIR FOLLICLE TEST to your appointment at the time of booking.
If you’d like to talk through the options, be sure to reach out!
An itchy scalp is one of those things that's easy to shrug off, often without a second thought. But a scalp that keeps itching is trying to tell you something, and it's worth paying attention.
Itching is never a symptom I like to see left alone. Scratching at an irritated scalp again and again can cause real, lasting damage to the skin and follicles over time, and that's something we'd far rather prevent than have to repair later.
Itch also tends to arrive with company - maybe dryness, maybe buildup, maybe an imbalance or some inflammation you can't yet feel. The catch is that the itch on its own won't tell you which one you're dealing with.
This is exactly where the microscope becomes so valuable. In most cases, I need to look closely at the scalp to understand what's really behind the itch, because the right way forward depends completely on what's causing it in the first place.

Psoriasis and eczema are distinct conditions, but they share something worth understanding: both need to be approached from the inside and the outside together. When we only address what's happening on the surface, we usually end up chasing one flare after another.
Both can show up on the scalp, and when they do, they affect more than your comfort. They can influence the quality of your hair as well, because the inflamed skin is the very same skin your hair grows from.
What ties these two so closely to the rest of your body is how much your gut and immune system shape them. That's why I never look at the scalp on its own. Your diet, your environment, and the way you manage stress all play a genuine part, and small, sustainable lifestyle changes can make a meaningful difference in both preventing and managing flare-ups.
On the external side, focused scalp treatments paired with an anti-inflammatory shampoo and topical can offer real relief and help keep things steadier in between flares.
This is patient, layered work rather than a quick fix, and it's honestly some of the most rewarding work I do with a client!

Restoring your hair and scalp takes real time, and I'd be doing you a disservice if I made it sound like an overnight thing. It isn't. But a longer timeline isn't a bad thing, it's how we build results that genuinely hold.
Here's the honest part people rarely hear up front: everyone's path looks a little different, and yours depends on what's actually going on and how much you want to throw at it.
If you'd prefer to go low and slow with just one to three interventions, that's a completely valid way to do this. It usually takes around one to two years to reach your goals, and for many people that gentler pace fits their life and their budget far better.
If you'd rather see change more quickly, combining maximum interventions with steady at-home care can get you to those same goals in closer to three to nine months.
Neither approach is more correct than the other. They're simply two different roads to the same destination, and the right one comes down to what fits your life right now.
If you're wondering which path would make the most sense for you, that's exactly what we figure out together at your first visit. You can book a consultation anytime, and I'll drop the link in the comments.

If you struggle with an oily scalp, you already know how frustrating it can be. And I completely understand why most people respond by shampooing every single day. Here's the tricky part though: washing daily can actually make the oil worse, because your scalp reads all that stripping as a signal to produce even more.
So let's talk about what actually helps.
My first recommendation is almost always a professional scalp cleaning. Getting that existing buildup off gives you a genuine fresh start, and a clean slate is so much easier to maintain at home than trying to claw your way out from under months of product and oil.
From there, it's worth taking a gentle look at diet. A lot of sugar, processed carbs, and heavier unhealthy fats can nudge the body toward producing more oil. I don't say that to point fingers at all, it's just a useful piece of the bigger picture.
You may also need a shampoo made specifically for oily scalps. My favorite is the Oway Purifying Hair Bath for Oily Scalp.
And here's the tip that surprises just about everyone. An oil based pre-shampoo treatment is actually really helpful, because oil attracts oil and makes the excess far easier to lift away when you shampoo.
If your scalp has felt like a losing battle lately, I promise it doesn't have to stay that way. You can book a consultation anytime.
