Capitol Squash couldn’t be more proud of our very first class of college graduates!
These remarkable young women have grown up with Capitol Squash and are now taking the next step in their journeys.
Adriana joined Capitol Squash in 2016 at age 12. She served as captain of her varsity squash team and graduated from Vassar College with a degree in Neuroscience & Behavior. She has accepted a position as a Rehabilitation Technician in the Rehabilitation and Neurology Department at Saint Francis Hospital.
Ku joined Capitol Squash in 2015 at age 11. She went on to compete on her college varsity squash team and has graduated from Mount Holyoke College with a degree in Economics. She recently started her career as an Investment Accountant at Hartford Steam Boiler.
Julissa joined Capitol Squash in 2014 at just 10 years old as part of our very first cohort. She went on to compete on her college varsity squash team and has graduated from Wesleyan University with a degree in Computer Science. This summer, she will begin her career as an Associate for the Technology & Operations LDP at The Hartford.
We are honored to have been part of their stories and can’t wait to see what they accomplish next.
Congratulations, Adriana, Ku, and Julissa! We are so proud of you.

This year, Capitol Squash launched a new tradition of awarding graduation cords to our high school and college graduates. Earlier this month, we extended that tradition to alumni who graduated before it began by hosting a special retroactive high school graduation cord ceremony.
Alumni returned to Trinity College to receive their cords, celebrate their achievements, connect with some current students, and reconnect with their friends on the squash court. It was so special to bring the Capitol Squash community together!

Capitol Squash celebrated an incredible year of student achievements at our awards ceremony last night!
From academic growth, to outstanding sportsmanship, to impressive rookie performances, we were proud to recognize the many accomplishments of our students both on and off the court.
We were also honored to celebrate both our high school graduates and our very first class of college graduates by launching a new tradition of awarding graduation cords! Our two high school seniors received gold and white cords, while our three college graduates received gold and blue cords.
Congratulations to all of our award recipients and graduates. We can't wait to see what comes next for each of you!

For four of our students, Sami, Kiara, Eden, and Dalier, it was their very first time competing at a US Squash Junior Sanctioned Tournament. See Yo won the BU13 bronze title and Hser Paw won the GU15 bronze title! Great job, everyone!

For the month of May, Capitol Squash put an emphasis on the word “perseverance”. This past month, Milan demonstrated incredible perseverance when she got injured. Even though she couldn’t play, she continued to come to practice to cheer on her teammates and learn from her coach off court. Since her recovery, she has worked hard to come back strong and it has paid off! In a few weeks, Milan will be attending the SEA Individuals Tournament as a first year student! Milan also always displays perseverance in the classroom, staying focused and productive throughout her academic sessions and serving as an awesome role model for her teammates. Great work, Milan!

After attending a presentation about how words are powerful at her school, our student, Yaretzi, brought the lesson back to her Capitol Squash teammates! Yaretzi led the team in making a poster where they shared powerful words and phrases that Capitol Squash makes them feel. Some of our favorites were, “Thoughtful”, “Strong”, “Inspiring”, and “Teaches Us”.
