According to Wallet Hub CT is nation’s 16th best economy. Obviously that’s not good enough but it’s encouraging considering where we have been. What do you think lawmakers should do to make our economy even stronger?

Great news from the State Bond Commission!
Yesterday, the Commission approved $10 million for Connecticut’s new graduate student loan program, helping nurses, teachers, social workers, and other public servants access low-interest loans and avoid crushing debt. In the Higher Education and Employment Advancement Committee, this was one of my top priorities this year, and I’m so glad to see it move forward.
The Bond Commission also approved an additional $5 million for the Connecticut Nonprofit Security Grant Program, which helps houses of worship and nonprofits strengthen security against hate crimes and violence. In 2019, I was proud to jumpstart that program with Senator Saud Anwar to make sure every community can be better protected. At a time when antisemitism, Islamophobia and other acts of hate are on the rise, this funding helps ensure everyone can practice their faith safely and without fear.
I’m grateful to Governor Lamont and the Bond Commission for supporting Connecticut students and helping keep our communities safe.
