This morningI , had the opportunity to join a panel of community experts for an important discussion on the impacts of human trafficking across Connecticut and in our community. Panel was lead by State Representative Eilish Collins Main and p.e.h.t and included the Partnership to End Human Trafficking's CEO Jamie Manirikiza, Sharon Walker Epps CEO of the Rowan Center, Lieutenant Kevin Keenan from the Stamford Police Department and me.

The key takeaway for the audience, is Connecticut's new coordination law, established this year, creates the infrastructure backbone and human trafficking database. This will then be the foundation to turn data and coordination into direct survivor outcomes.

This morning we marked a major milestone on the WALK Bridge Replacement Project - the signing of the first structural steel!

Thank you to Department of Transportation for leading the effort on replacing the 130 year old aging bridge!

I have been visiting Kindergarten classrooms in the district this week, reading fun stories and congratulating some of our youngest residents as they get ready for 1st grade!

Yesterday, SB 04 and SB 05 / C.A.R.T. Act. were signed into law. These bills will help Connecticut move forward on responsible artificial intelligence policy, consumer protection, public trust, and long-term readiness, and will mark an important step forward for responsible AI governance in Connecticut.

It was great to launch pride month by raising the 🏳️‍🌈 on Monday in Norwalk. Norwalk's strength has always come from the diversity of its people. This flag is a reminder that diversity includes our LGBT+ neighbors, and that their rights, their safety, and their joy matter to all of us.🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

June is Pride Month! A time to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community and reaffirm our commitment to equality, dignity, and opportunity for all. During the 2026 legislative session, we strengthened protections against hate crimes and expanded access to fertility care for LGBTQ+ couples and individuals. While other states have moved backward, Connecticut continues to protect access to care, defend against discrimination, and ensure that everyone can live, love, work, and raise a family with the freedom and respect they deserve.

Please help us spread the word about this important conversation on human trafficking and its impact on our communities.

My colleague, Rep. Collins Main, is hosting us in Stamford at the Dudley N. Williams, Jr. Auditorium at Ferguson Library, located at 1 Public Library Plaza, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The event will feature a panel discussion with members of the Stamford Police Department and other key stakeholders who will help educate attendees on this critical issue, how it affects our communities, and what we can do to raise awareness and support prevention efforts.
