Day 4: 🇯🇵 Kyoto (Part 2) - Some people leave an impression long before they become a memory.

In my final moments in Kyoto, I was grateful to spend time with my friend 🧡misa🇯🇵kyoto🧡. What began as a simple meal became one of those conversations that quietly stays with you... We talked a little bit about training, family, and life, and simply enjoyed catching up.

I’ve admired her dedication to fitness and calisthenics for a while now. But what inspires me most isn’t the muscle-ups or the flag holds. It’s the discipline behind them. The willingness to show up, day after day, pursuing growth and consistency in a way that most people may never experience in their lifetime.

Meeting people who move through the world with that same spirit reminds me that even across different languages and cultures, there’s a common bridge built through shared ideas and mutual understanding. That’s something that humbles me every time I travel the world, and something I’m especially grateful for knowing I was able to grab a bite with Misa before heading back to Tokyo.

Misa, thank you for your kindness, the thoughtful gifts, and for making time for me in Kyoto before I had to leave. Wishing you strength and growth on your journey. I’ll be doing the same here in New York, and I hope that when our paths cross again, we’ll both be even stronger than before.

P.S. Misa, I hope one day you step onto the competition stage. You’re definitely ready, and I know your peers have been telling you the same thing... I hope you go for it! がんばって！✨💪🏿🙇🏾‍♂️🙇🏾‍♂️

Today was an iconic and historic day.

Karamba Sise and I had the honor of standing in community alongside friends, supporters, other artists, and the family of Ol’ Dirty Bastard to celebrate the official street co-naming in his memory.

The day began with a gathering on Claver Place between Jefferson and Putnam Ave. for music and speeches from the family and loved ones sharing about ODB’s life and legacy followed by a brief walk to the unveiling of the street sign at the mural spot on Franklin and Putnam, the very neighborhood that helped shape the legend we know as ODB.

Shouts to the Office of Council Member Chi Ossé for joining the family of Russell Tyrone “ODB” Jones in honoring one of Brooklyn and Hip Hop’s true icons.

The love, unity, and energy throughout the day will be unforgettable. It was inspiring to see everyone come together to celebrate a life and legacy that continues to impact generations.
