Today, as we honor Juneteenth, we acknowledge the historic milestone that marked the end of slavery in the United States. Last night, members of our team had the honor of participating in the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants (CTCPA)'s Celebrating Diversity in the Workplace event. Hearing from keynote speaker Sandra Quince, CEO of Paragim for Parity, gave us new insights into DEI in the workplace and motivated us to engage in meaningful discussions. We truly appreciated the valuable and informative evening, and we are thankful for the opportunity to learn and grow.

We had a fantastic time on Friday at our annual Community Day, where we joined forces with the Bushnell Park Conservancy, The Diaper Bank of Connecticut, and the ZOO in Forest Park and Education Center for volunteer initiatives across Connecticut and Western Massachusetts. Our team members participated in various activities such as park clean-up, mulching, planting flower beds, and fence repair and painting. We also helped out at the Diaper Bank of Connecticut by sorting and repackaging diapers for families in need. It was an honor to partner with these amazing organizations, and we are looking forward to continuing to make a difference in our local communities together. Huge thanks to our partner organizations and our dedicated volunteers!

This afternoon we kicked off the long weekend at our annual Spring Party. We welcomed new team members and celebrated our recent accomplishments. Thank you to the team at TPC River Highlands and everyone who joined us for a great afternoon!

To give our team an early start on the Memorial Day weekend, our offices will be closed on Friday, May 24th and will reopen on Tuesday, May 28. Wishing everyone a relaxing weekend as we honor and remember the brave servicemembers who gave everything for our country. Their courage and dedication will always be remembered.

Our team was proud to participate in Junior Achievement In A Day! This fantastic event brings community volunteers into elementary and middle schools to share their real-life experiences and JA’s economic-based curriculum with students. The goal is to show students the relevance of what they're learning in school and how it applies to the “real world.”

Additionally, Larry Carboni (our JA Lead!) and Kim Napp attended the Partners in Achievement Breakfast that morning. This event celebrates the contributions of JA volunteers and highlights the impact of JA programs on students' futures.

We are so grateful to everyone at Junior Achievement, the amazing teachers and students at Chamberlain Elementary School, and all of our volunteers. We had an amazing time and are incredibly impressed by the enthusiasm and curiosity of the students.

Last night at the Aqua Turf Club in Plantsville, CT, Drew Andrews received the Jack Brooks Leadership Award at the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants (CTCPA) Annual Meeting. This prestigious award, named after former Executive Director Jack Brooks, honors a CTCPA member who has significantly advanced the accounting profession and strengthened the organization. Drew was recognized for his unwavering dedication and proactive engagement in the accounting community. Congratulations to Drew on this remarkable achievement!
