In Jordan, my home country, organ donation is strictly limited to related living donors. Donation after determination of neurologic death (DNDD) is essentially nonexistent. The total number of heart and/or lung transplants has been zero over the years. We hope to educate the public and erase the misconceptions regarding this topic via USJOtransplant initiative. Organ procurement continues to be the only hope for 1000s of patients awaiting life-saving transplant surgeries. Thank you Didn’t think I’d yet reach the milestone of procuring chest organs independently that early in fellowship!

We made it! My co-fellow and I survived one of the most intense fellowships; Heart/Lung Transplant & Mechanical Circulatory Support. It was a pleasure training under Dr Igor Gregoric and the team at UT Houston!
