In my work, I consider complex communities and their encounters with other communities. The reef came to mind because I was coordinating concepts with . It was with her that I first experienced my first kelp forest. I was a reminded of my early drawings as a child. My first love was the complex reef community. Bright beings, building together, inviting other creatures , living and dying in place. Our kelp forests and reefs are shrinking. I piece together my valuable silk forest of scraps and invoke the material of making: shell and skeletal structure powder, algae and seaweed, and water. I am reconstructing reef. I am showing this piece . A thank you to for participating in this show. It’s an honor to be in this group show together.
With love, Yvonne
Happy Valentine’s Day!
2025 has been a year of Woods and Wonder. A deep dive into forestry, agroforestry, and wildlife biodiversity has yielded new creative work. As always, thank you to my greatest loves and luvees, for your beauty and inspiration. You keep the world bright.

It’s been quite a summer.
What’s on the project table…
Bio plastics
Natural cements and plasters
Bio materials
Large wall panel art
An animation project
A “ghost “!
To keep me grounded, I’ve been working on my tiny suburban land and over the last few years I’ve been spending less time managing a lawn and spending more time rebuilding a wildlife habitat.
To keep me inspired, I connected with local community groups looking to keep lands for wildlife, manage our human ability to be good neighbors to wildlife, and mostly, just doing something NOW.

A new art show, “In the Year 2025” opens today on the Deep Transformation Network.
My submission is “Old Glasses” is part of the show.
I imagine myself existing beyond this year looking back.
“Our reality has been shattered.
Like trying to see through broken glasses, the once transparent becomes distorted.
Light still comes through, yet many only see what they are told. What was our history, our home, and our heritage that was plain as day and somehow, simply forgotten?
Through the wreckage of our constitutional democracy, I envision our world through the shards of our recent past.
What mechanisms do we create to document the damage from the “shock and awe” barrage of broken truths? How can we piece together something we took for granted?
I create a new lens, pieced together from the scattered bits of beautiful glass that once offered a clarity and confidence in that which was in front of me.
I see today’s message (pink) and am not taken. Together we watch each other’s backs. Together, we network to develop a new vision.
My glasses become a historical artifact.”
Consider joining to view or participate.

This fall, let’s keep in mind that most of our native caterpillars (future butterflies) do not migrate. They stay and overwinter. Let’s provide some habitats for them to survive the winter.
