Still some bits and pieces to put on the new warehouse for Rockingham Cooperative. Working with our good friends over at Lantz Construction Company, the new warehouse replaces a deteriorated wood building. Engineering Solutions provided turn-key design and assisted the owner with our project management services to review payment requests and change orders. The Harrisonburg office donated some time today for the Habitat for Humanity townhouse project on Suter St in Harrisonburg. Thanks to Johann with JZ Engineering, his crew, and our friends over at Monteverde Engineering & Design Studio. Lots of fun having three structural engineering firms joining some hard working volunteers and staff!

With some rain finally heading our way, you might want to get out and check your gutters and downspouts! The single largest issue causing foundation issues is water. Keep the gutters clear and the downspouts free flowing.

Of course we don’t always follow our own advice. At the Harrisonburg office, we just cleaned out a few of the gutters and the downspouts were clogged in two spots. One of the downspouts had become disconnected from the gutter ni**le. Check them with a hose if you can. Be safe on the ladder and call a cleaning service if you don’t want to risk being on a ladder.
