Simple Hill Farm
Simple Hill Farm is a small sheep farm in the Shenandoah Valley producing quality Merino fibers Created from merino wool, the yarn is soft to the skin and warm.
Our yarn comes in natural undyed colors and a rainbow of colors from natural plant dyes. Think cozy and bouncy when planning your project to create with our sheep's Simple Hill Farm yarn! Simple Hill Farm is a small business owned and operated by Heidi Lantz-Trissel.

I finally finished the by . It’s a great classic cardigan to throw on over short sleeves on a cool evening! I have to admit I made plenty of mistakes with this piece. My system for tracking what row I was on was a disaster! Luckily it’s in dark brown so hard to notice! No looking at it up close! I used our Simple Hill Farm fi*****ng yarn in Ancient Oak Brown, a most lovely undyed dark brown from my dark brown merino sheep.
I’m very excited to use this rainy weekend to start my new knitting project! I’ve been planning this one for a while but resisted the urge to start before finishing the cardigan. I’m making the by . I’m using our Simple Hill Farm DK weight fine merino yarn from our flock. I am not putting any mohair yarn with it. Hoping the plant dyed colors will still give it a cozy look! I’ve been block printing lately with natural dyes and was extra excited when I read that the pattern was inspired by a textile designer’s block prints!
Pictures are of the finished cardigan and the colors picked for the new WIP along with a picture of the Djo Sweater from the pattern (ie. not my sweater! I don’t knit that fast!).
Sheep & a painted turtle! Watch the video to see what the turtle was doing!!! Very fun footage!
Sound on! And if you watch to the end, you’ll hear our lamb Moo’s thoughts on the joining of the flocks!
